Hi Gregory
Thanks for your comment. This is Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight. I have to admit to boosting the saturation a bit. It was a miserably cold and gloomy day.

Excellent capture. I guess the old lady is a music lover as she appears to be searching for some change. I'm sure I would pause and listen for a while. Nicely cropped and the composition ensures that my eyes keep moving in a circle around the three subjects inside the picture.
PS thanks for your kind remarks on my amateur efforts.

Very nice. I feel an urgent need to put a coat on. I agree that a slightly tighter crop and a correction to the horizon tilt might give you an even better image.

My instinct has always been to wait for people to move out of the way
before I take a shot however I'm wondering if this is such a good
policy in all cases. What do you think?

Amazingly this old house is empty and stands in danger of slowly
returning to nature. Shropshire is a bit off the normal tourist trail
but surely better use could be made of this wonderful piece of our
heritage.

I have a choice. I could make the shadow lighter or darker. This is my
best compromise.
-
Maybe both?

Wonderful clarity. Needs to be seen in the larger view.

Any cropping or other comments would be welcomed.

Thought to be a Tudor restoration but obviously not fifth century!

Sorry forgot one step. After you've changed the blending mode of the new layer to overlay, fill the layer with 50% Grey.
The main advantage of this method is that it is non-destructive. You just make all your adjustments using either black or white brushes. 10% opacity will give you a subtle adjustment and you can just paint over it again if you need more.

Splendid. Where did all the people go? Your colours complement the architecture very well.

Nice image. It works well for me as a contrast between the cold of a windy northern evening and the potential warmth locked up in the building for the the night.
Also I much admire the rest of your portfolio

Lovely textures.

Hi Gregory
Not the Cathedral but all that remains of the old castle. The Cathedral is well worth a visit.
