  1. tech support is looking into the sorting issue as well as Jack's 404.
  2. we're happy to look into your issue with links from your portfolio page - they seem to be working with other portfolios (for some reason, just not yours)....have you disabled the photos?
  3. Checking error logs to see what the issue is from there.
  4. Hello All, Our galleries will be down for a bit as devOps works on a few upgrades. Expecting a significant upgrade in uptime and speed as a result. Thank you!
  5. As always how one defines active users differs from site to site. Forums generate roughly 1.5M PV/month and has 1M unique users - now many of those only read they do not register and interact - but that holds true on most sites. This screenshot of some of the sites mentioned standardizes the site users as it is from one source.
  6. @Sandy Vongries not a bad thought - no one can follow a photographer on photo.net using twitter or facebook - you need a photo.net account to follow. Lets keep an eye on it.
  7. @frigo - People can unfollow you as easily as they can follow you - I am not sure why there would be such a large drop in one day no updates on our end that would impact that directly. Please keep an eye on it and let me know if you see anything interesting in the count moving forward. @Sanford - all spammers contributions should be deleted, l will look into it.
  8. issue has been resolved, devOps is looking into the reason.
  9. The best way to do what you are looking to accomplish IMHO is to follow those photographers that catch your eye or inspire you. Then when you log in and mouse over your avatar in the upper right hand corner of our main menu then go to Favorites > Photographers....you will see a stream of recently uploaded photos by those photographers you have followed. To expand your pool of favorite photographers - recently uploaded is always a good source OR check to see who your favorite photographers are following.
  10. Issue was resolved. Our indexer went down - devOps is looking into the cause now so we don't repeat the problem again.
  11. No program has been devised to artificially inflate views on your photos. A view is a view, and impression is how often the thumbnail was viewed/displayed. As to why some photos have a burst of views shortly after upload then it trails off - its likely because "recent uploads" is one of the most popular areas of the site and they click on the thumbnail thus generating the view....as time goes on a less recent upload resides further down the page therefore likely generating less views. Generally speaking, the more frequent you upload a photo - the more your portfolio gets viewed because the recent upload can spark curiosity and lead the user deeper into your other galleries. I hope this helps.
  12. He hasn't been on photo.net since Saturday - I have sent him a DM asking to connect on this.

  14. It is a benefit coming soon to subscribers. We're releasing it on Monday - please stay open minded - what you see there is something they had to do to get it prepped for Monday.
  15. I will reach out to each of you individually through DM
  16. OK gentlemen - no need to go back and forth on this. We will work with Western Isles to figure out what his issue is so we can all move on.
  17. A thumbnail view of photos is what an impression is. When it comes to slideshows - you can view photos within a gallery as a slideshow with the <previous and next> arrows. Go to this gallery as an example: Portrait of actress Ashlyn Pearce | Photo.net you will see this above the photo. If you click on the photo from this page, you will get a view where you don't have to scroll and you can still click <previous and next>.

  19. we have the ability to DM each other as well as email each other again moderator tools allow us to admin the forums. Xenforo is built for this.
  20. If you don't like impression - then what word do you like to convey how many times the thumbnail of the photo has been viewed in our Explore Tab. "ThumbViews"...again open for suggestions.
  21. I believe this is an issue with his browser - he's using Edge which isn't a browser we do testing on....only 2% of users use Edge....Chrome is 50%, Safari is 36% and Firefox is 10%...then its a long list of other browsers that make up the remaining 4%.
  22. We flag those accounts that self indulge in over admiring themselves - it helps us weed out the folks who like to play the system. They get warned then banned.
  23. i can look into this again as mentioned earlier - due to GDRP we had to dial back our outgoing emails but we've covered those requirements to date. I realize this isn't exactly what you are after in email notification when a comment has been made on your photo - yet....BUT when you log in you should see this if there has been comments on your photos.
