  1. Don't think Nikon lacks the technical ability to do it, but rather the reason for not doing it probably lies elsewhere.
  2. Mostly over my head 😉 What is the frequency of these tasks that you need or like to perform? Think Photoshop (and some other programs) has the color analysis of a converted B&W image and one can tweak it.
  3. What is the purpose of forensic imaging and how could "pure" B&W be uniquely (?) useful in this area?
  4. Some people still carry a Rolex watch when a cell-phone makes a lot more sense. 😉 As a photographer, speaking from my own perspective rather than that of a collector, using a monochromatic camera is a bad idea because this means I would carry an extra piece of equipment (dreadful) in addition to two color cameras and lenses - on a non-casual shoot. To ensure capturing the best possible shot, I would most likely end up using two cameras. Totally unnecessary. Not doing it. Don't want to be a masochists. 🤣
  5. Please help me understand why people would be eager to pay $2,200 for a camera that only captures monochrome images, when it is possible to convert any picture to B&W effortlessly? Moreover, there is software available that can provide a "vintage," "retro," "contemporary," or even a "normal" look. I can comprehend individuals who purchase monochromatic Leica/Hasselblad due to the status they provide, but I think Pentax and Nikon purchasers may not have the same motivation.
  6. Is it still 20fps in raw mode? Think it's quite enough for practical usage, though not as much as some other cameras.
  7. May I make a bold suggestion: take this opportunity to jump on the Nikon Z mirrorless train now. I briefly checked eBay just now : Sell your D750 and D7200 - the proceeds would be enough to buy a used good-to-excellent Nikon Z6 - maybe the proceeds can even buy the II version. Then get the 24-200 Z lens. I love and always use a good zoom lens for walk-around. Based on my experience with both Nikon and Olympus M43, I find the 24-200 range practical and reliable. As for Olympus, time again I fall back to the 12-100mm lens (equivalent to 24-200mm in full frame) even though my other Olympus pro lenses are also very sharp.
  8. Yellowstone Mammoth Hot Springs in winter.
  9. Were you pounding it with the Bible supplemented with a prayer, or you just couldn't find another object to hammer it? 😇🤣

    Fast SD cards

Dunno. Bot, AI, updated Turing, breathing human, whatever. Anyhow thomasx's post appears to be the scheduled follow-up on the project - to double-check and advise on whether I did do my "research to choose a compatible high-quality card". 😁 I am glad to report "Mission Accomplished". I did my "research" right here on this thread, and happily completed the project with the advice, recommendations, and references offered by helpful and knowledgeable members of this forum. Thank you.

    F100 vs. F6

It's a big headache. No store would absorb so many units, and the selling process of so many items is tedious. It's difficult even if they want to give them away to organizations that still teach film photography to HS students. Hopefully the publicity it has now generated can help out.

    F100 vs. F6

Sounds crazy but I can see how a passionate compulsive lover of cameras can end up with this trove over a number of years.
  14. Black Mane lion. We watched this guy for a while. He walked and walked and finally sat down for a rest.

    F100 vs. F6

Just checked eBay, the functioning F100 price varies from $125 to $1599 and F6 ranges from $850 and upwards. Not bad actually. However, I am glad I sold my F100s and F6 years ago.
  16. Dunno. Just thought we are back to square one, that's all. 😫
  17. This is a joke right? PN is Comedy Central now. Good show! 😂
  18. Glad I assisted you. That's what PN is about. 😊
  19. Yes, "assisted" was annoying. However, it did inspire me to look up Assisted Living in my community and to check out the benefits of my long term care insurance which I have been paying in for 20 years. It turns out that the benefits are not bad at all, if by any chance I will need it in the future. From time to time I find PN's benefit invaluable - and to think that many people died without claiming any benefit because they were not assisted by Photo.Net? 🤣.
