Lovely shot. This grabbed my attention in the critique forum, I very infrequently visit these days. I was thinking a bit more contrast especially over the flat light on the Soldier Mountain and the lilies could be an interesting to add. Best+Lalit

Beautiful reflection there and so are the colors. I would prefer to not capture the foreground rocks here. That would keep the composition a very simple one.

 

Its a lovely shot. Over 15 seconds its a great effect over the sea. Do you think there is some barrel distortion there? If there is one, I thought fixing that would be more pleasing.

It took me 4 previous consecutive trips here... 7 short hours without any

food or water... almost broken back.... 3+ hours of trials and right light to

capture this!

Its a nice composition. but you need to process it correctly. Red yellow and cyan are clipped and there are overexposed areas. Have right contrast for the clouds and perform correct noise processing.

When it comes to listening to music, all that matters to me is striking the chord...and striking it right.

... and when it comes to photographing ancient Indian Architecture, photographing the light is the number one objective I focus on. 'Cause its the light and culture the architect has described through the structures he has built.

I forget the most common nuances of capturing these monuments. I constantly change the lenses from ultra-wide to telephoto inspired by the angle and light.

I believe that, the light and shadows scribe the words on the hearts of the viewer. The light and shadows are what plays the music in the ears, who listens to it.

Here in the staged shot, in one of the old buildings from more than 300 years ago, I first saw the light, and then thought of striking the chord!

Experiencing a beautiful Sunrise by itself, almost at the beautiful shore of

the Lankan Island, south of India.

Wow! I am glad you are safe. What a place on earth this is. I would use a different white balance or captured in RAW, would reduce the warmth a bit, especially because even the grey clouds are looking yellowish at some places. Long exposure may be helpful too for soft and silk routs of the water. cool otherwise!

Most interesting in this image is the light on the hills through the low clouds, and secondly the contrast of the vibrant green grass against water rand everything. I suggest you avoid those foreground trees and keep the composition very simple, focus on that wonderful light. Cool stuff from veranda for sure :-)

Quite a landscape capture. Though not very vibrant colors, its a very moody shot.

One one side the mountain peak of Nandaghunti above 7000 meters

was glowing in the first light, with the glaciers glistening golden and

silver, standing tall amongst the high ridges of the hills and mountains

that lifted it...stealing almost the entire show of the morning. There is

something soft and much more beautiful happening on the west side

though, where the light had not reached yet and the morning was still

engulfed into the high clouds, some carrying the colors of the dawn still,

while some still busy flirting with the ridges, slowly rising up. This is one

moment of that romantic affair... they did not know I was also watching

them..nobody knew!!

Unlike most times I used a Raynox DCR 250 on 50 mm 1.4 to capture this

image on my 50D. Its that perennial breeze that kept me swinging all the

time, finally only one shot that I am very happy to get of this beautiful

Monsoon Flower.

I took this image in Bharatpur Birds sanctuary, the birds's paradise. I found

this an extremely quiet moment. Which helps to concentrate at the bird

while feeling the inner peace.

This is America's darling, and nice as always. I suggest saturation of some colors especially the sky on a lighter side to make it look more natural. Tint could move away from the magenta side a bit. Otherwise nice.

I love the composition, the starting position of the diagonal line, the dark lake reflecting the skies and the trees, the amount of space for the skies with the clouds have added to it.

I agree the sky needs to be processed in the original. I think all you need to do is to remove the blue tint. I would prefer the original colors in the rest of the image. In the processing shown, the highlights in the clouds seem to have washed off and the sand looks exposed more. But it was a right attempt to point out the unnatural hues in the sky.

This image is taken in Bharatpur Birds Sanctuary in India. I as a

landscape photographer have a tremendous challenge if I decide to do

any photography in Indian national parks. This is because you are not

allowed to get down from Jeeps. Carnivorous animals roam around at

most places. This place is an exception. On this winter morning, the fog

was like omnipresent ..on lakes, in trees on roads everywhere. Truly a

dreamy atmosphere. I had carefully chosen this place a day before and

rushed to the location in the morning. After the Sun had risen a little bit,

it illuminated some of this fog and the backs of the storks. I took

several shots, with various formations. This one probably made the day

for me. With their beautiful harmonious actions, the faint but a symbolic

reflections, creates the feeling of peace and hence invokes the joy. This

is taken with 100-400 on 7D on Gitzo tripod and slight cropping for

composition and Channel mixer in Photoshop was all needed. All I had

to do is to preserve the feel of this place and time. Thanks for looking.

Buddhist monasteries from North India are still keeping with their centuries old traditions. Monks produce beautiful art representing the wonderful culture, while they make Rangoli art, or create colorful decorations.I found this opening door and the wall its embedded , in one of such monasteries. Instead of making a tradition portrait of the door and surrounded art, I decided to pick and choose the colors and designs from each of the separately done artwork. This gives me a totally different and cross section view of what the artist must be going through when he made this art, may be parallel thoughts or those on top of the previous one.

Equipment: Canon 5D, 28-135mm.

Some of my quietest moments were in the roaring sounds of the river Bhagirathi (main tributary of Ganges).This is the gorge of Gangotri. Not too far from where mother Ganga is appearing first.
