Somewhere along the way, I bought a Canon FD 50 1.4. I already owned a 50 1.8, and I own more 50m lenses than you can shake a stick at (more on that later). Nevertheless I couldn't help myself and got the 1.4, tempted by its' legendary IQ. According to this thread at dpreview, the modern EF 50 1.4 is based on the FD 50 1.4.
Of course, as these things go, the moment I bought the lens it sat unused in my closet for probably the last 5 years until this last Christmas when I decided to see what was in there. Intrigued, I mounted it on my Fuji and took it to the Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary for a spin. Since it was a bit of a grim day, I thought it best to put it through its paces with some texture shots.
I'll let you judge the results. These are almost all straight OOC JPEGs, using a preset B&W "Green" setting (except the color shot of the dog, which was shot in the Velvia setting).
