Thank you everyone for the very kind comments.

Jerry,  I use a remote trigger.  I use manual settings and focus on where the water is hitting.   I use a toothpick to focus on, remove the toothpick and then just start shooting away.   With a little bit of luck, you can capture the image  :)

This is a reflection of a flower captured in a falling drop of water.

I am still always amazed at the reflective /refractive properties of water.

Your comments, suggestions and critiques are always welcome and

    appreciated.

Like the cropping on this much better.  Brings the attention to the ant.

Nice shot.   Are you using flash?

Normally due to the limited depth of field with macro,  flash is needed.

However, diffusing the flash and even moving it off the camera (if possible) help eliminate that "flash" look while illuminating the subject.

I would try to diffuse the flash and see what you think.

    Hope this helps.

Barry,  no problem responding.  I really appreciate when someone takes the time to comment.

Yes, I am illuminating with either the Nikon SB600 or SB900 off camera aimed at the back where I place the flower.

I use the 60mm macro lens  with a shutter speed of 1/250 .

     Again, thanks for commenting!

It was done in camera.   The drops were falling very slowly and that allowed me to get this shot.  Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Very nicely done and great depth of field.   If you were to diffuse your flash a bit you can reduce the blown highlights in the bottom of the drops, unless that is what you were after.
