  1. That site does not list shipping to USA and if that is desired there is an international call to discuss. I copied the part number and sent a question to Epson asking if that works on the v800. Thanks again, Alan.
  2. Thanks, Alan That film holder is the one I am using, I believe. It looks like that. It is fiddly when loading the film. It holds three negatves with some room to spare. The window measures ~~2.5x10 inches. The one I mentioned above was for the V700 and held double film strips, but over $130
  3. I have borrowed a Epson V800 scanner to digitize old medium format and 35mm film, both B&W and color. The OEM film holders hold only 3 frames of 120 and 3 rows of 35mm. I saw a v700 medium format holder that held 6 frames for over $130, ouch. Not a lot of bang for the buck. Can one lay down the film on the bed of the scanner (my film is flat) and cover it with glass, to hold it in place and flat, and get good scans? I am thinking 9 to 12 MF and 36 35mms. If distance is an issue then laying the film between 2 pieces of glass could give the proper separation from the bed of the scanner. If the film lays flat enough is a separate glass cover even necessary? BTW, I am very satisfied with the scans I am getting now, but I am looking for a way to speed up the process and make it more efficient. TIA

  5. I was using this for street, so my finger will be doing the pushing. I have a Vello Shutterboss to do what you suggest though
  6. That works! The shutter must be held down for the duration of the exposures, but I set it at 6fps, 3 exposures and I think I'll remember! Yes, using the d4 delay removes the need for the self timer, so that works. I pushed my luck to see if I could get a burst, with a delay, with the mirror up. no go ;), but I really wasn't looking for that anyway. Thanks all, yes, great camera. I shot the above with the Mup. Even at 1/250, the mirror slap affected sharpness. I was surprised how well the image held up under significant cropping in LR--another testament to the camera and the lens
  7. Thank y'all SO MUCH, Great, and Yes, Sandy, an amazing camera. I was pleased how the image held up after cropping in on LR. Much larger and pixels start to appear. I was on a solid tripod, self timer, 1/250 and even then the mirror slap affected sharpness. The above was shot with Mup, manual focus, live view.
  8. 1) I occasionally shoot street with my d810. Is it possible with a single trip of the shutter button to fire off more than one shot in a burst, eg 3 or 4 rapid sequence exposures with one press of the shutter? 2) can that be done in mirror up mode? Mup? 3) In mirror up mode can the self timer be used? I have looked for the answers, but finding none, I presume it does not exist?? I was shooting the super moon last night with the mirror up and tried to use the self timer, but it seemed the Mup and self timer were mutually exclusive, one or the other... And there were some fast moving clouds, hence the question about burst and self timer. Thanks I did get this though with the 70-200--@200, 1/250 f11 iso160

  11. In a semi related note...is there a diffuser or some DIY rube goldberg design that can be used as a diffuser on the pop up flash? I've looked at the major houses and found nothing.
  12. thanks...found and ordered. The good news is the package includes the focus grip and the zoom grip and looks OEM. the bad news....expect delivery by MAY 4. My present grip should last that long though. $7, Thanks
