thanks Gary. I do appreciate the advice. i don't have any "equipment" other than my camera and lens so far, so i'll have to check into getting a fill flash. someone had commented on my other shot like this, giving the same advice. so i guess i should read up on what type of equipment is what, since i'm still in the "dark" about it!!!!

this is such a beautiful photo. i can imagine two people kissing under the light and not worrying about the snow falling on them....

Well, I almost stepped on this snake while walking in the woods, but not because he was blending in with the leaves. It was because he was only about 5 inches long! It's a shame I didn't think at the time to use a larger DOF. I'm such a newb. But I was excited to find him so I was just trying to get a few shots in before he slithered away.

very nice! what business is this?

poor thing. it reminds me of my lambie that i lost for a year when i was little. evidently i was playing "hide and seek" with him and hid him too good! i found him a year later with a half an ear missing from where a rat had chewed him.

i think your shot definitely captures the somber mood in which you experienced this find. i always get a bit of a heart tug when i find children's graves in cemeteries. here's one i shot: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=9734552
