Nice composition and colors. Effectively portrays a sense of depth.

I think the color and detail are excellent. What does it look like with the grass cropped out? Still, I think it works OK with the grass. Good work.

Great choice of focal length to exaggerate (as if it needs exaggeration) the steepness of the ridge. Wonderful shot!
-
Neat shot! I almost expect to see a sandworm or Beetlejuice. Very original look.

Wow, nice shot! Just a guess on the composition? Good use of DOF.
-
Well composed and well exposed. Good work.

I like the hint of color that is coming from the wave in an otherwise monochromatic scene. Nice mood. Well executed.

Although I prefer to crop in the camera, I have to agree with the comments on cropping above. Still, a beautiful scene. Good job sticking it out for the right light.
-
Well done. It looks like the branches on the right are just a little soft-- was the wind blowing or was the DOF just a little too shallow at f/5.6? Still, a great shot and well composed.

Good composition. Keep up the good work. You have a great portfolio to browse.

Good compositional eye and use of Velvia. Thanks for the great photographs.

On my monitor the darker areas have kind of a cross-hatch pattern. I presume this is the scan (or just my sorry monitor). Either way, the basic shot is wonderful. Good eye for dramatic light.

I think I like it with the black. Good shot.

Great blues and greens and the exposure is right on. Beautiful work. Thanks.

Pretty colors.

I'm not sure what to make of the light line outlining some of the mountains, but overall I think this is a great image with a real painterly, watercolorish quality. Did you do any PS work on it?
-
I like many of your photos but I really like how you've captured the leaves of the tree-- presumably the same tree reflected in the water.

Great composition and nice (compressed) perspective. I do feel, however, that the color of the water appears unnatural. It is not that it appears too saturated-- it looks as if it has blue food coloring or Tidy Bowl in it. The foam doesn't appear white enough...it looks blue. Maybe that's the way it really looked but it doesn't ring true. Was any post-exposure manipulation done to "enhance" the water? If so, you might try again and decrease the enhancement. Otherwise a wonderful shot.

Nice composition and good use of the saturated colors of Velvia. Good eye-- I can picture you pulling over to run and grab this shot as I, myself, often do.

Great picture! Deliciously spooky. Reminds me of James' "The Turn of the Screw". I'd be interested in more technical details as well.

This is a nice shot. Cutting off the window at the top is a little distracting but overall you have a good eye. Thanks.

Good composition and exposure. You have a good eye. My only suggestion is to apply all of your obvious skills at different times of day. While this photo is already good, imagine how it would look with the subtle pastels of daybreak or dramatic colors of sunset. I know this is not always possible in the mountains (or even advisable in the case of summits) but it can produce memorable results. Thanks for the photos and keep up the good work.

I think this is an excellent documentary photograph. Much of Sebastio Salgado's work depicts unpleasant scenes. The same for Dorothea Lange, Robert Frank, and Larry Clark. So, while I'm not elevating the death of a squirrel to the level of human suffering revealed by these photographers, if Mr. Chan feels it is important and can make us feel it to some degree as well, I think he has produced a successful photograph.
