  1. It's almost a landscape shot- meaning, the close set of buildings are similar to a hill and the further buildings a mist shrouded mountain. The cropping works to establish the foreground as close while separating the taller buildings as distant.

Personally, I would revisit the site on another foggy day and spend some time shooting from other angles. With your skills, I am sure you could shoot more interesting compositions such as this- nice work and portfolio!

  2. For one thing the edges seem oversharpened especially on the rear wing. If there is enough of the photo left you could tilt the horizon either right or left to add an appearance of speed. Otherwise it's a clear snapshot, and we all have plenty of these.

    Cheers

  3. Perhaps posting the raw file might help clear some of this discussion. The edges appear overly sharp on my screen as if cut out (even though they are not). Personally, I would like to see if there is more subtle textures in the water from the wing penetrating the surface.
Otherwise, the photo was interesting enough for me to notice it. Out of the thousands of photos I view each week that's saying something- very nice capture.
Good luck surviving a POW thread. I had one too and they can be brutal.

I am seriously considering a revisit to this style of photography. The

series of shots will be specifically for children's book

illustrations. Before I do, I thought it would be worthwhile to hear

    your suggestions or thoughts.

Thanks in advance for your response. I intend to post the resulting

    shots here as well.

    Sidewalk

This is a sidewalk near my office. I found the texture and colors

caught my attention. Admittedly, I saturated the colors a bit more

and color corrected. Perhaps you have a similar shot of worthwhile

    comment...

A candid moment from photo shoot. Moments like these keep the humor

in the work. His Mom loved it and similar shots, as well as the

traditional shots. Perhaps, you have a shot like this worth sharing.

  4. One portrait from a series to be used to promote a nationally ranked

swim team with 4 state champions. Any suggestions, or sources I

should refer to when creating posters and promotional material?
