  1. Hi Marco, this is a very good close up of a yellow rose. The soft lighting and the water drops make this photo successful. The dark background help the flower to stand out. Good to see the whole rose is in focus. Not sure about the bud at the side, not there would be better for me. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tamara, beautiful flower you have here. It is well exposed and stands out from the black background. Though I feel the cropping is a bit tight on the left. I also wish for a deeper depth of field to have the whole flower in focus, or all of the stigmas at least. This is personal taste only and the flower is very good as is. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jeffrey, this is a very nice flower photo. The tulip is well exposed while the color is very real. I wonder if  the sharpness of the main flower could be improved a bit.  Would be nicer for me if the background flowers are not there, since they are colorful and drawing my attention. Wish to see more of your photos.

  2. Hi Gregory, this is a very good flower photo with rich color and very good sharpness. Nice black background makes the flower stand out. Just hope the bright white on the water drop is not there, it distracts a bit. Also would like to see a whole flower or just a tiny part of it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, very nice orchids here. Good exposure and black background helps the flowers to stand out. But I would not cut the petal of the main flower. I would also try shooting just one flower or a group of flowers. The color and the details in the petals are also of my interest and I usually try to capture them as well, by using smaller aperture. Oh! Those water drops on the petals are very nice add interest to the picture.

Thanks all for your kind comments and ratings. Much appreciated.

    Roger,

thanks for your advice of a solid b/g. But all of my lotus photos were taken in ponds of the publuc parks and it needs some luck to have a good b/g. Always good to hear from you.

    Regards Robert.

    Ifti,

Many thanks for your encouragement. The lens used for this shot was Sigma 150-500, a nice and affordable lens.  Glad you like the background as well.

    Regards Robert.

  3. Good timing, beautiful light and sharp focus. All these make this photo suceecssful. And the prey in the mouth adds interest. Well blurred background makes the bird stand out. Like it very much and thanks for sharing.

    Best wishes Robert.
