    <p>Captive at an aquarium (the aquarium has more than just fish). There was really poor light available and I'm still wondering at my decision to test the new 7D2 in these conditions. Jeff, terrific shot! Thom, that looks like one contented kitty.</p> <div></div>

    <p>Arnold, give yourself some time to really get acquainted with the camera. Each new model has its own quirks. I am finding the noise at high ISO cleans up much easier than the 7D files. Processing seems more on the par with my 5D3 files.</p> <p>Expose to the right (ETTR) for best high ISO photos. And never go to an aquarium to test new equipment. ;-)</p> <p> </p><div></div>

    <p>My eyes aren't quite good enough for manual focus, Bruce. So yes, I do depend on AF heavily. And I can see why you would want more DR for midday. But if the 7DII doesn't have more DR, I would consider it only one small checkbox left unchecked in a feature-rich sea of those that are checked.</p>

    <p>Bruce, I hear you, and I understand. Each have their own desires. Nothing wrong with that. And better dynamic range would certainly be welcome, but I don't think I've ever looked at my photos, or those of others and thought, "man, I wish it had more DR". On the other hand, I <strong>have</strong> often wished my 7D had better AF and less noise.</p>
