hey jack. i like this image. it's great that you have made a pile of rocks visually interesting. the stone wall at the back, with the lines and shadow, makes it work nicely. like the b&w for this too.

i enjoyed looking at this angelo. the different tones, lines and textures form a nice abstract compostion. but i agree, it doesn't make me think of autumn. very nice image. thanks.

thank you GungaJim and Margo for leaving a considered comment.

GungaJim, i had considered cropping to a square format but i decided the landscape format gave more of feel for him crouching down lower than a snakes belly, waiting for the ball.

Margo, i work hard at achieving a good b&w with channels, layers, toning etc. As for dof, you can count me in as a fan of shallow dof, i can't deny it. it is just a natural preference but i try to do things differently now and again. thanks. btw... cattle dog = madhouse in our case, but what a hoot!.

Hi Joao. i would have put details of the original photograph so that people who haven't seen it before know what you were trying to achieve in this copy shot. i did do a quick search for it online but i didn't manage to find it. cheers.

hi gunter. there is some lovely negative shapes and interested use of light and shade. just an initial thought... perhaps the noise is a bit too dominating of the image?

Hi Maria. I like the composition. I like the interaction the way the little man is trying so hard to get some attention. They both look adorable, it is very sad that they can't find a home. I hope you can keep trying. Is there anything on the net for your area in the way of dog rescue/adoption sites you could try? thanks for posting this lovely image.

thanks R Christopher. Yes, his expression isn't especially cutesy or distinct is it so it probably is up to the viewer to interpret.

Alon, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I am happy you liked it.
