Hi Philip. Trilby looks to be a lovely lad. You might consider a portrait format here and think about not cutting poor Trilby off at the ankles. I do like hims gazing off into the distance. You should have fun photographing him.

Thanks Ilia and David. This beach seems to go on forever, and with hardly anyone on it and the rain moving in, it was just the way i like a beach to be.

Howdy Darryl. Thanks, I don't mind you saying that at all. I think I would mostly agree with you. Some dog shots I would have no other way but colour. I reckon I would naturally choose b&w for 85% of my shots. Because I have a natural inclination toward b&w I feel the need to sometimes be a bit contrary to my own instincts and go with colour. It always amazes me how much difference b&w vs. colour can make, especially on an emotional level. Cheers.
  1. Thankyou Saad, Stefano and Rajat for your comments.

Saad and Rajat, thanks for your suggestions for giving the image a bit more contrast. I had not made up my mind on that myself, so i appreciate your thoughts and I will think about that some more. I quite like the foreground sand in your version Rajat. Thanks all!

howdy. nice shot and well done for capturing the on-coming action so sharply. i like the square format and the composition. and i like the lines in the paving leading to the lines in the fence/gate. to me it is suggestive this little one on racetrack. nice b&w too.

thanks you very much for your comments Ian, Will, Cynthia & Dr. Didi. It is always nice to know that others have enjoyed one of my images. I liked the flowing circular movement of this leaf.

Hi David. Thanks for leaving your comment. Yes, his eyes are always on the look out in case something involving food or games happens. From your porfolio, it looks like you have a few gsp's to keep you busy. Cheers!
  2. Hi Art. thanks for your comment. this was an older image that i thought would suit the panoramic format which is this months project theme. it was a good exercise to think about using other formats. thanks karen.

Hi Rene. love these sillhouettes. i like the use of line and the points of visual weight in the seed heads. i also like the lack of a scale reference and love the toning. thanks for posting.

Hi Claude. Thanks for posting. I do like the idea of leading you into the image from the eyes and travelling down the cat to the tail. I feel i was lost a bit however because the tail leads to the blob of yellow and the empty space at the top. i was thinking the yellow prevents you from returning to the eyes because of its dominance and leaves you in the nothing area at the top. What do think? Besides that i really did like this image. Thanks, Karen.

Thanks for your comment Vincent. Yes, she is a beautiful young girl. Your observation was interesting. i wonder if it is the warm autumn hues in the background that you feel don't sit with the cool hues of her coat? I don't mind this at all but i can see why you aren't sure. She has the most amazingly dark glossy and curiously colour shifting coat. She can be 'fun' to photograph at times... out in the bright sun is mostly impossible. thanks karen.

Hey... thanks Alon. i don't do much of this kind of thing but sometimes the ideas just fall into place. i am happy that you appreciated it.

Thanks also to you Doug and Tony, i did appreciate your comments and i should have acknowledged them a bit earlier than this.
