1.
A trio from my "new" keep-in-the-car camera. Still a capable performer!

Nikon D100

 2.

Space isn't a huge concern, nor is portability

Take both.

but it would still be good to cut down on the weight and bulk of the camera gear I'm taking.

Why is this a good idea, given your first statement?

 3.
Our last stop at the beach, North Shore. Such a pretty day!

 4.
I had the same issue with a N70. I used black Krylon spray paint and it's been fine ever since.

 5.
For me, photography is about freezing a moment in time. Something that can be revisited, essentially forever. My dad died when I was five and left a few dozen Kodachrome slides. I don't remember him at all but the slides do elicit memories, feelings, of a time and place long ago and long lost.

Maybe some day my kids will enjoy looking back at their childhood, all captured and stored online and in print form. Maybe they'll throw it all away. Don't care. I love the images, especially my film work, and love slide film the most even though I shoot it the least. I'm no mystic, but looking at a slide is magical to me, always has been.

I also enjoy capturing what isn't there. Photography is a good bit illusion of reality. That's fun.

 6.
Ebay has gotten so buyer-friendly that you essentially can not, ever, list no returns. The option is still there but if the buyer initiates a case saying the item was not as described, you'll have to accept it as a return. Ebay will enforce that.

You can eliminate non-local buyers by listing the item as local pickup only and ignoring anyone who asks for shipment.

 7.
Done, but I not only develop my own and print both color and B&W, I also scan. The form makes that an either-or situation.

 8.
Agree with richard a - the first shot is most excellent. Not sure what it has to do with Snow White though...

 9.
I was a Minolta guy, up until their long, Long, LONG delay in bringing a DSLR to market. I grew impatient and tried out a Canon Elan 7NE. I liked it well enough to decide on the 10D as my first DSLR. I didn't bite on the Konica Minolta 7D nor on Sony's A100, but I returned to kick the tires with the A200. Solid, nice camera, but not as nice as the semi-pro 20D and later 30D I was using at the time. My first serious Sony was the A77. It's nice but horrid for action shots, and I was one of the guys who hated the SLT light loss and resolution loss. So last year I bought an A700 and I'm happy with it.

None of Sony's "innovations" have tempted me to buy more into their system(s). Their latest about-face, abandoning the Minolta style hot shoe, is just another attempt to sell me more new stuff that I don't need.

 10.
From our mini-vacation to the North Shore

All images, Canon EOS-70D

 11.
Kyle Bybee - love your Iowa shots. I'm a long-time Iowa inmate - err, resident, and I find it hard to find stuff to shoot here. There are lots of farms though. I should get out of town more often!

 12.
Returning from a trip to the North Shore, discovered these four stones in my pants pocket. My daughter put them there. Is it not funny how we keep certain things, that on their own, are pretty much worthless?

Nikon 1 J1

 13. Howard - great film shots! The 9 is an awesome camera
 14. This lady tried to hurry through my shot, not realizing I was waiting for her TO enter the frame.

 15.
You know, I half get the feeling that those of us who don't own a D800 (for the Nikon weekly thread) or a Canon 5DMkIII for this one may as well give up trying... :) Such amazing shots by everyone shooting those! And yes, I know it's not the camera it's the photographer that matters... :)

David Stephens - you should write the State of Iowa to see if they might be interested in that Goldfinch shot. It's our state bird. Simply spectacular.

 16.
A trio from 3 different cameras...

First up, the mad scramble for candy at the Trekfest parade. EOS 7D

Next up, the approaching storm... EOS-M

And last, a closeup of our cat, testing my new 100-400 and EOS 70D

 17.
Torrential downpour, round 2. We had 13.29 inches of rainfall here in Iowa in June. The old record was 11 inches.

Nikon 1 J1

Baseball entertainment on a dry day...

Nikon D7100

 18.
I'm always amazed at Canon. They got right back to me with an emailed question I sent them yesterday.

 19.
I don't see why not... but sometimes I don't shoot with a classic camera. I use EOS and Maxxum and other advanced film cameras too. I think lots of folks are that way. So participation could be sporadic.

 20.
And for the film lover in our hearts, one more...

 21.
A trio from the a700

 22.
Jeff - that's a great photo, and one of the nicest butts I've seen in the Canon weekly thread. :)

 23.
Flowers by the bus stop. Nobody notices 'em. Too busy on their smartphones...

Canon EOS-M

 24.
Hi Alice, are you asking how to fix it, what it is that broke off, or who to send it to for repair? I can recommend (with some reservations) a repair guy here in the USA but not anyone outside.
