Very effective image Gary. I especially like the area toward the bottom where you pick up some of the background (I assume snow) and it creates a "posterization" of the ice crystals on the glass. - Bruce
  1. Thanks Vincent for the comment. This image has been in the system for over two years and until now I hadn't given it a second look. The more I worked it the more I saw. It's not often that I'm surprised like that.
  2. Wayne - I generally like and enjoy your presentations. I often try to get a "painterly" quality to my images and I'm curious what filters you use to obtain your results. Kudos for your interesting work.

I very rarely use borders. You could match the color of the bud (which it appears you're pretty close here) but you could step it back to 50-60% of that color so it doesn't overshadow the image. Or you could use a complimentary color, also running a a percentage less that 100%. Google search for a complimentary color to "cherry red" which I think your bud is close to as "Cherry red works well with azure, grey, light-orange, sandy, pale-yellow, and beige". You could also use a variation of the green in the stem and leaves.

Love the image. Great texture and color. Not so much the bright border which is brighter than the brightest part of the image and distracts the eye from your subject. Regards -- Bruce
