Thank you all very much. After taking this image I viewed it and was both surprised and happy with the composition.
Chimps are considered to be our closest relatives both behaviourally and genetically. They are both compassionate and calculating and reflect human behaviour quite well. I think this image represents human dynamics well

I like the image, the overall composition, but I too feel the pose is laboured somewhat.
The soft key tones give this an ethereal feel which is nice and easy on the eye. I wonder what the image would look like framed higher on the top allowing for more of the wall along the top. Perhaps that would add a bit more balance? as a thought

this is really impressive work Gail.
It's possibly one of your best images and one which is definitely a favourite among many.

I don't really know hat to make of this image.
The colours are nice but there's nothing that really that draws me to this image other than the fact its a photo of the day choice

beautiful image , great colour contrasts and lighting

very nice image, nice crop and editing in high key monochrome. worthy PoD. I also like the caption
-
beautiful capture and editing . The 3/4 balance of sea v sky seems hard on the eye (for me at least) but I like that. It makes it unique as it is technically well presented

nice monochrome editing on this image, Debra

Thank you all very much.
This chimp was sitting quietly somewhat interested in me more so than his surroundings. He appeared to be an older chimp but again I cannot be sure of this. This was my first visit to Toronga zoo in Sydney so I was not familiar with the chimps. I plan on visiting again, soon, and using my already limited knowledge of them, to capture more dynamic/intimate images
