hi Jose, great photo with good exposure and tones. although the perspective is fantastic I think your level of cropping adds to this poto. well done
  1. Hi Francisco, I like what you've tried to capture here, however due to slow shutter speed necessay to capture this you have lost focus. I'm not sure if you used a tripod but something to consider next time if you haven't. your composition is good.

    THE AWAKENING

Hi Richard, this is a nice image with good colours. The contrasts between the ground and foliage are very good. Have you considered manipulating the background (in post production) to highlight some of the clouds? perhaps a darker tone? in any event this is well done (6/6)
  2. Hi Kah when I first saw this image it reminded me of a few photos I recently took at southbank. I do like your perspective wth the bridge in the frame and the clarrity is fantastic. well done

Hi Mel, clever shot. I like this because it's slightly unusual with the colour tones and white backdrop. Have you considered maybe softening the light through post production to make the transition between light and dark colours more gradual?

Hi Hugo, 1sty let me congratulate you on the newborn. i like this capture, great DoF and detail. I undestand what you're trying to achieve here however I'd like to add that perhaps you can enhance this photo by adjusting the colour tones (middtones) to a darker shade to help blur the background a little more. Perhaps another cosideration would be in B&W as well as a slightly different perspective to get a partial face shot to take the focus way from the hands in MHO. (5/6)

Hi Denis, BW certainly sets the mood for this pic. Perhaps a few tones darker may have added something more in MHO.

What I take from this photo and what I like most is that through your choice of subject (Eugene, the photographer with the hat), you allow us (the viewers) to take a glimpse of a artist at work, and in turn a glimpse into his inner self. Like an outsider, watching and waiting for the click of his camera to take that perfect shot, I don't find the sky, the water or the jetty distracting, but simply part of his surroundings. It's your subject that is captivating. The remorse, solitude and sadness (described by Jessica A), the music (described by Bill S), the meditation and tranquility (described by Hekate H) may be sensations and concepts of your subject's surroundings which he is attempting to projecting through his lens as, often, we only see what the artist wants us to see. You, on the other hand, are also documenting that moment in time when an artist expresses something beyond his/her surroundings, something such as their inner self. Something that cannot be seen through his lens but certainly through yours. It may be the same thing we all feel whenever we choose to capture a moment in time.

    Well done (6/7)

  3. In hindsight, this is a remarkable image. What is initially seen and what is perceived are totally different. I think the magnitude/scale of the subject matter and the angle in which it is taken alludes to the simplicity and minimalism, which is anything but that. Almost like a contradiction in terms. The colours certainly add to that illusion. This photo can easily be a work of abstract art as much as a documentary piece.

Hi Linda, nice use of colours and tones. The shades of your subject matter and edges, reminds me of the coolness of a summer's day out in the fields, I like your choice of border too. well done and thanks for sharing

this is a fantastic photo, well taken. seems as though there is mist in the background if so perhaps bringing it into focus more though exposure manipulation may add to the mood created, in MHO
