1.
Gus,
Welcome to the New world of a down-sized Hasselblad that can no longer repair anything beyond the common 500 series and the current H system.

I received that same Generic message about getting a Late-Model 200 Series lens rebuilt. Purchased a Hasselblad 200 series 110mm FE very late model for $700. I believe that the entire aperture blade assembly is frozen and can open at all. At one point Hasselblad made an upgrade aperture replacement blade kit for this problem.

I will have to wait till I have enough funds to have it rebuilt. I have anther source in Taiwan who can rebuilt anything and if needed, he can fabricate any parts needed.

Evan

 2.
Somewhat the same issue here too. What lens are you looking to hack and whom will be doing the hacking?
Do you have a 2000 series body already?

 3.
I use Hasselblad Service Station directly all these years. All parts would have to come from them directly. David Odess is a great choice as he formerly worked for them.

Up the corner form you is the best choice! They are very pleasant and will give you an estimate if you do not mind sitting & waiting. That has been all of my transaction whenever I bring in equipment for servicing. Breakdown of fees are similar across vendors.

 4.
Barry,

I do not believe that there are any NEW loupes being made. Whatever you see are either remaining New Old Stock (NOS) being sold.

There were a handful (maybe -3?) of loupes that covered 6X7 film. I have a Mamiya Cabin 6X7 loupe that I use for my 6X6. Initially I was planning on buying into the a 6X7 camera, but stopped at with my Hasselblad. The loupe is now sold as Cabin 6X7 loupe USED or NOS on eBay.
Here on Amazon it is available (Just one remaining)
On eBay as NEW:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130482675929?item=130482675929&rmvSB=true

Here are some theads you might want to read up on
http://www.photo.net/medium-format-photography-forum/00MYwS
https://majid.info/blog/going-all-loopy-about-loupes/
http://www.apug.org/forums/forum379/145087-mamiya-3x-6x7-magnifier.html
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-104932.html

What Collins mention regarding looking in the viewfinder at the OUTER edges is correct. There are no direct loupe that you can use to view straight down in the center.

The only ones I seen and HANDLED were the Pressman Rodenstock loupe that will more than cover a 4 inch x 4 inch area.
NOT AVAILABLE as far as I know to the general public.
Evan

 5.
Mathew,
Thank You for taking the time to put together a clean manual, especially as a PDF!
I have a later Medalist II that I plan to have Bald Mountain convert from 620 over to 120.
That of course would include the overhaul of this fantastic camera.
Any opinion on this conversion?

Evan

 6.
That's the old address. HasselbladUSA has moved twice since that last address.
They should have that TTL cord, as I bought one years ago from them.

Hasselblad Bron Inc.
1080A Garden State Road
Union, NJ 07083

Phone
(800) 456-0203 toll free
(908) 754-5800 phone
(908) 754-5807 fax

Email
productinfo@hasselbladbron.com
sales@hasselbladbron.com
servicedept@hasselbladbron.com
Please contact Hasselblad Bron Inc. via email servicedept@hasselbladbron.com or call 908-754-5800 x4 to speak to a service representative.

Hope that this information is helpful.

Evan

 7.
I have upload some recent jpegs of my hacked lens to illustrate the recent modified CZJ 120mm Biometar MC & CZJ 180mm Sonnar MC for my Rollei SL66.

 8.
Harvey & J Buck,

Look for the later version beyond the ZEBRA Stripe version of this fantastic lens. I have (2) older Olympia Pre-Set that was adapted for Hasselblad 2000/200 series body.
I seen the Rollei SL66 HFT lenses modified for the Pentax 6X7. Even a Pentax 6X7 to mount all Hasselblad V Lenses!
I recently had a late Zeiss 180mm2.8 Sonnar MC modified for my Rollei SL66. AS for the Pentax 6X7, whomever will be doing the conversion, you would have to ask the machinist/repairmen directly. I think its possible.

 9.
Dennis,
If you are going to made a 500 series Shuttered lens, I would be interested. Of course it depends on how much it would cost...

Would you have a website for the shutterless version? How much are you asking for it?

Evan

 10.
Kat,

There use to be another woman there beside Maryann. I think Rose Marie. Both were very good in communicating the customer's need to the Service Dept. I live in NJ so I always do I Walk In and meet everyone for a Face Off.

The best way to know Hasselblad better. I enjoy their staff and their service. Its a bit pricey, but for the 2000/200 series & H System, there is no other option!

With demand for the specialty V system declining, its best swerve to send it to Sweden for all complex repairs. All spare parts comes form there, so naturally it best route for service.
That has also worked for the Contax product line. Simple repairs are done here by Tocad America (Also NJ Based) and all complex repairs goes directly to Kyocera Japan. I hope to use my recently serviced & Overhaul Contax 645 till it can no rise to the challenge anymore in the future years...

Yes I use two different high end scanners for my medium format scanning. A Scitex Eversmart Pro II and the Imacon Flextight Precision III.

 11.
Kat,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I just checked both 110mm F & 150mm F and so far I do not have the sticky aperture on either of the lenses. Of course that doesn't mean it will not happen in the near future....
I would call Hasselblad USA and ask for Dennis Greco. He is the Head 2000/200 series Technician there. If he is no longer there, ask the Head of the Repair Dept what exactly is their course of actions for older 2000/200 series equipment.
I called recently regarding spare bulbs and Service for my Imacon Flextight Precision III that was serviced by them. I am the second owner and although the CLA was expensive, I am quite satisfied with it overall.
Dennis Greco serviced my 2000 FCM, 201F, and 205TCC. The 205TCC had a new curtain that came from Sweden... Otherwise I can not find any other individuals whom can even touch these 2000/200 series equipment..
Best course of action would be to allow Hasselblad to repair them if possible.

 12.
Kat,

I feel your pain too. I had similar results with all of F series lenses for my 201F. 50mm, 80mm, 110mm, & 150mm. The 60-120mm zoom never had any issues with it!

Unfortunately, only Hasselblad is the only vendor that I could find that would service these Non-Electronic camera...
I wish that there were someone else whom can service these lenses for a simple CLA.

 13.
Jose,

You would be very happy with the two Kodak Ektar lenses. Superb sharp and Rare.

 14.
HI Bernard,

I saw your reply. I don't really remember which cameras was where Hasselblad started using the palpas as an anti-reflective coating internally (?). Might had been form the mid 1990s. I vaguely remember hearding about, but never pursued what it was all about.

Guess U will have to more alert now, when buying any of the bodies...

Thanks for providing the details form David Odess.

 15.
Bernard,

Have you checked directly with Hasselblad for their response to the cracked palpas in your camera? I understand that it was a common thing to occur.

 16.
Gus,

I did check with Harry. He is currently about 4-6 months backlogged. I will check with Paul Ebel about the lens. Hopefully he might be able to do something for me

 17.
Gus,
For these "out-gassing", can they be cleaned up? I believe that I have such an issue on my Rolleiflex MX-EVS Type II. It has a "Cloudy" appearance when viewed through a bright light source. I was hoping on having it cleaned up, but was not sure whom to use. Do you do any lens servicing when a camera comes in for a CLA?

Evan

 18.
Russell,

I would find that to be incredibly inaccurate to have a knockoff created just for the purpose to sell. Not to say it can't happen, but how about providing a link to that auction? Are you maybe reading into the location of the seller to have arrived at that assumption?

When most film based photographers here in the US was dumping their Medium Format system, many sellers from overseas had a yearning for the very best quality product available. Film is still available there along with processing. In fact there is a dedicated website just for lens hacking for film and digital based photography. Please point us to that auction if you want some help here in deciding if its a bogus item or not. If you still feel that way, I would suggest buying from Keh Camera.

 19.
As of June 1, Tocad America would no longer be affiliated with the servicing of all Contax-Yashica equipment. Kyocera has been winding down their Service Agreement with Tocad America and will soon be transferring all related parts & equipment to Nippon Camera in NYC. Sad but true on April Fools Day. I recently picked up my Contax 645 System that went out to Japan for its final servicing. Now i must baby my treasure...

Directly from Tocad's website: http://www.tocad.com/serviceandsupport.html

Services

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CONTAX SERVICE
Effective April 1, 2015 ToCAD America will cease service of all Contax equipment.
Beginning April 1st, please send all Contax units for repair to:
Nippon Photo Clinic
37 West 39th Street, Suite # 401
New York, NY 10018
(212) 736-4663

ToCAD America Inc. provides service, support and parts for the following product lines in and out of warranty:
• Contax cameras, lenses and accessories
• Sunpak flash, tripods, filters and accessories
• Hakuba tripods, cases and accessories
• eneloop batteries and chargers
• LensPen lens cleaners
• Trek-Tech TrekPods
• Panasonic batteries

For in warranty service please provide:
• Sales receipt
• Warranty card
• Description of problem
• Name and address
• Daytime telephone number
• Email address.

For out of warranty service, please provide:
• Description of problem
• Name and address
• Daytime telephone number
• Email address.

Send the product insured for full value to:
ToCAD America Inc.
53 Green Pond Road
Rockaway, New Jersey 07866
United States of America
Attention: Service Department

Upon receipt, the product will be inspected.
