Aslan CS Lewis, the author of the Narnia books, said of Aslan, 'he is an invention giving an imaginary answer to the question, "What might Christ become like if there really were a world like Narnia and He chose to be incarnate and die and rise again in that world as He actually has done in ours?" This is not allegory at all.' Maternity wing I can imagine that in a modern retelling of the Nativity, there might be no room in the Maternity wing ... Why the Sony A900 price is still high on the used market
howardstanbury replied to BeBu Lamar's topic in Sony/Minolta
If it's any consolation, after more than a decade of waiting and wanting, I bought an A900 from ffordes, a camera dealer in Scotland. It was £450 (= $595) with just over 8,000 actuations. Sale price includes a 6-month warranty. LCE have one with a grip and a cheap lens for £500, and ffordes have another example body only for the same price. Unless there's a real bargain to be had on eBay I prefer the option of buying from a camera shop. -

Wireless flash transmitter for my Sony a900 & a850?
howardstanbury replied to mark_stephan2's topic in Sony/Minolta
Ah, I see. Sony do a wireless controller (FA-WRC1M), but I think it is for the current multi shoe, not the earlier iISO shoe. You might need an adapter to make it work. And you might need receivers on your flashes, judging by the wording on the Sony site. Godox sell a controller, the XProS, which claims to be Sony flash compatible - see GODOX PHOTO EQUIPMENT CO.,LTD Xpro-F. I have one for Godox flashes, but I don't have a Sony flash to test it. However, that too uses the Multi shoe. -

With that much film you can use one to test exposures - colour negative film usually has a good latitude so a few shots with bracketing should give you an indication. I recently exposed six-year out-of-date film at the rated ISO and got fine results; you might end up having to do an extra stop or two to get good results. The classic manual film cameras forum might have more advice.

Wireless flash transmitter for my Sony a900 & a850?
howardstanbury replied to mark_stephan2's topic in Sony/Minolta
I have no direct experience, but the mhohner.de web resource suggests it will work, see A Minolta/Sony Alpha Flash Compendium - Flash Setups and scroll down to select camera, flash used as controller, and remote flashes. -
