  2. A cheap entry point would be to get a full frame mirrorless camera - perhaps the original Sony A7 or the mark II, which has in-body stabilisation (you can set manually the focal length of the lens).
  3. I now see how this site has been reorganised ... I'm not sure there's a need to maintain a separate Sony/Minolta photo thread when there's a perfectly fine Mirrorless thread in the parent forum. Shout if you disagree!
  4. On the way to Scotland recently I took time out to look at a couple of spots in the Yorkshire Dales, near the border with Cumbria 1 2 3 As ever please do add your own photos!
  5. No need to apologise - it's great to see someone else's photos in this forum! TFS
  6. I found a review online and it says, 'the lens also has a macro mode. You activate a switch and turn the zoom ring behind the 70mm marking and the image is magnified. So at shorter distances you can focus with the zoom ring.' Does this help? Pressing the button allows the zoom to travel to the macro setting?
  7. Happy New Year! and may I suggest that more post their Sony and/or Minolta photos here? Headington Quarry Boxing Day 202 Winter sun and shadow Both A7 III
  8. Peace lilly | A7 III and Sigma 70mm F2.8 Macro
  9. If it's an important consideration, the A7 II has in-body stabilisation. The sensor though is pretty much the same as the A7 I; it's not bad just not a huge step forward, the progress was more with the IBIS. The other advantage is that A7 IV lenses are a better match for the A7 II.

  12. Apologies for being away - and the website has been changed in the meantime! As ever, if anyone wishes to start the ball rolling any week I haven't done it, by all means go ahead! In recent weeks I have been to Dorset: A Battle of Britain class steam train on the Swanage railway To Holland: Mudflat walkers return to base at Noordpolderzijl in Groningen province And to Devon Throwleigh
