Hi Ross--I love the concept of this image. Three layers, all terrific together. Love the look of cornstalks in the snow. I hate to nitpick, but I think it's a bit oversharpened...at least there seems to be quite a bit of noise in the sky and when I enlarge the image, there's definitely some artifact. But I still love it.

OMG! Is the wren trying to imitate the leaves?? What a wonderful capture!! Bravo!

I think this closely misses being a great shot. If you were able to shoot in a straight line behind the birds, parallel with the horizon; and if you crop the land right out of the shot (the horizon has a noticeable tilt to it as well). The fact that the movement is blurred makes it impressionistic,and the colour on the water is very nice. Very close!

I'll third that!! I would love this to just be a study of the foreground water (which is beautiful) and, in the background, the frozen trees. If only there had been no direct sun on El Capitan!

Putting the colour shift aside for a moment, this is a wonderful study of pattern, shape and texture. Very nice!

Suddenly it feels like spring in the middle of winter! This is lovely.I've never seen so many of these in one place. Nice capture!

Tony, this is beautifully captured. Those berries are so perfect with their little snowcaps. The bokeh is nice too...bravo!

I'm with Chris on this one, Leslie....what a beautiful scene, nicely captured indeed! Glad you didn't fall in!

 

I can imagine an artist, perhaps working in pastels, would "see" all the colours in the horse's coat, just as your treatment has brought forward. Together, all those un-horse-like colours really work!

Lovely light in those clouds, Johanna--but I think your image would benefit from a big slice off the top....
