  1. A beautiful and timeless portrait! And not overdone, as special effects can sometimes be. What a lovely young lady!
  2. Yes, I agree! The way you combine various elements to make these works of art just amazes me! Beautiful and a touching tribute!
  3. Another outstanding animal shot! However, I think the background blurring is a bit heavy-handed and encroaches on the dog. Is there any other way for you to obscure the background? This is outstanding work, but I think the background detracts a bit. Keep up the great work! As I said in your other dog shot, I think you have a real knack for this kind of work!
  4. I usually read all of the comments on your images, but since it's late here I'm not this time. :-) I think you have a real knack for pet photography. The technical aspects are perfect, and there is an emotional component to them as well. I'd like to see a softer vignette line around the dog so it doesn't have so much of a circular ring around him. But even so, it's excellent work. Those eyes!!!
  5. Tony, Pierre, and Gail, Thanks for your comments and visits! Greatly appreciated!
  6. Tony, Phil and Mike, Funny you should mention this looking good in different seasons. It's a project of mine to shoot these bridges in every season and make a calendar. The problem is that I haven't been able to time it very well for shooting in the snow. These bridges are in really remote parts of Indiana, and when we get a bad snowstorm we wouldn't want to be on these roads. I'll get to it eventually though! Thank you all!
  7. Gail......I know......with the way the light is hitting the rooster, it almost does make it look fake. He was strutting, but fortunately I caught him between steps. :-) Thanks! Tony....yes, I know that word. ;-) French was my language, and I still can speak a bit when I need to.
  8. Mike.....LOVE that word grizzled! Yeah, he's a bit gray and wiry! Thanks! Patsy.....as always, thanks for your comment and support! Gail, it's a LOT of work to go back through my inventory of shots, but at least it's allowing me to pare down all of my lousy shots. It's also a trip down nostalgia lane! :-) Thanks, Gail! Dimitris......As always, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the suggestion. I had not entered it, but based on your suggestion I went ahead and did it! Thanks for the idea and visit!
  10. Temptation big time! We don't usually eat this stuff (well, at least not often), but we have a tradition of making these at least once every time we go camping. We always invite someone over when we do or we'd eat the entire pan by ourselves. :-) Thanks!
  11. Gerry, of course that would be a good idea, but in this case it looked pretty dry and boring in the pan. It wasn't until I iced it and pulled it apart that it started looking irresistible. :-) I appreciate your visit!
  12. Thanks everyone......just getting back here and am pleased to see all of the responses. It seems it's unanimous, so I'll delete the other image (with your comment, Gail). :-) Sometimes it just helps to get a 3rd party opinion, so I appreciate your help!
  13. Rosario and Tony, Thank you both so much for showing this image a little love. I also loved this for the very reasons you mentioned. So it's nice to have someone appreciate it. :-)
  14. Jon, Holger, Mike, Patsy, and Alf, The things you all appreciate about this image are the same that appealed to me. I just loved the contrast of colors and textures, and the early morning light was hard to resist. Every time I get up early, it pays off. I have to wonder why I don't do it more often. :-) This was such uneven lighting that I blended 3 exposures together. I wasn't able to get a satisfactory single image. Thank you all!
  15. Well, you got a chuckle out of me on that one. I guess it's that active imagination of yours that allows you to get such great shots and see things many of the rest of us don't. :-) Thanks for your visit!
  16. Yes, documentary would have worked. I guess I shouldn't get so hung up on which category though. We all struggle with the same thing. :-) Thanks for your visit!
  17. To 3 of my biggest supporters.....thanks guys! I hadn't been up early enough to see a sunrise like this in quite awhile. Ideally, I would like to have gotten another shot of the sunrise, but the color was changing so fast that this was the only shot I managed to get. Thanks for your visits!

  19. There aren't enough categories, and I didn't know which category to place this in. Please C&C this for me. Thanks!
