  1. <p>Harry, that first shot is a dynamite exposure. Great photos from all this week. Keep them coming. Here are 3 from me...</p><div></div>
  2. <p>And finally.</p><div></div>
  3. <p>Here's a second.</p><div></div>
  4. <p>Great shots so far this week. I haven't posted in a while so here are 3 from me.</p><div></div>
  5. <p>I have two Cactus RF60s and two V6 Transceivers (one for the camera and on for the AF360FGZ). The simplicity, ease of use and control of the Cactus system is amazing. The original V6 does not support HSS. The new V6II Transceivers are only entering the market now. I will pick one up because it supports HSS with the RF60s - I will also need to update the firmware on the RF60s.<br> Here is an interesting clip from a FlashHavoc article:<br> "Cactus also have their own <a href="http://flashhavoc.com/cactus-rf60-flash-now-available/" target="_blank">RF60 speedlites</a> with V6 II compatible radio receiver built inside. And the RF60 can now provide HSS and Power Sync via the V6 II and V6 IIs transmitters. (Previously sold RF60 may require a user enabled firmware update)."</p> <p>You can capture some pretty amazing portraits with 3 flashguns and a couple of modifiers. Using multiple flashes is new to me. Here is one of my first attempts...</p><div></div>
  6. <p>Here's the second</p><div></div>
  7. <p>Understanding flash photography takes minutes. Mastering flash photography takes years. That being said; starting to learn with a Sto-Fen diffuser on your flash is a solid start. A Sto-Fen is small, easily fits in the bag and is unobtrusive. I have been shooting with a Sto-Fen and AF360FGZ on camera for a few years. Only recently have I moved on to off-camera flash with radio control (Cactus V6 and Catcus RF60's - thanks to Pentax Forums for introducing me to these).<br> Here are a couple of Samples with the K-5II, AF360FGZ and Sto-Fen...</p><div></div>
  8. <p>Justin, your budget seems good for a different approach...why not pick up an inexpensive 18-55 WR (maybe even pre-owned) that can be used in harsh environments (and won't break the bank if it gets damaged) AND a Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 Art? You'll get the best of both worlds. Plus at f1.8 you'll get a similar depth of field with a K-3II that you'd get on a K-1 with an f2.8 lens....just a thought. </p>
  9. <p>And the second...</p><div></div>
  10. <p>Hi Doug, great to see that you, Harry, Yury and Matt always seem to keep POTW going. Here are two from me with some similar processing in Lightroom. </p><div></div>
  11. <p>Thanks Javier. Great to see you back on photo.net. That old Kodak camera looks awesome. Also, did you ever own the DA* 200? If so, how did it perform? </p>
  12. <p>And the second...</p><div></div>
  13. <p>Great shots this week. Nice kick off by Harry, especially picture #3. Superb B/W portrait Dorus. Matt - awesome guitar - I want one. Doug that cave shot really has atmosphere, well done.</p> <p>Before I post 2 shots; I have a question. Does anyone here shoot with the DA* 200 f/2.8? I have been shooting Football from the sidelines with the HD DA 70 and am considering a longer lens. The AF on the DA* zooms is a tad slow so I'm hoping a prime might be faster. Since migrating to three pancakes (from zooms) I prefer the shooting discipline of primes. If anyone has this lens please share your experience.</p> <p>Here are two photos...</p> <div></div>
  14. <p>Finally….</p><div></div>
  15. <p>A third...</p><div></div>
  16. <p>A second...</p><div></div>
  17. <p>Outstanding action shots Doug. I believe the water colours were a combination of magic hour lighting and the reflection / refraction / dispersion of this soft colourful light through the droplets. Nicely captured. <br> I have been experimenting with lighting this week as well; shooting football practice after dark with harsh man-made lighting, high ISO, and DA Limited primes (not tremendously fast but excellent glass). It was interesting trying to capture the players while placing emphasis on the time of day. Here are a few samples: </p><div></div>
  18. <p>Last but not least...</p><div></div>
  19. <p>The kids goofing around in Union Station...</p><div></div>
  20. <p>Someone in costume...</p><div></div>
  21. <p>It's been a while since I've posted to POTW. Here are 4 from our vacation to Toronto. We took the kids to Fan Expo (Canada's Comic Con).</p><div></div>
  22. <p>And a third...</p><div></div>
  23. <p>Here's a second...</p><div></div>
  24. <p>Nice kick-off Doug. Love the turtle shot. Yuri, where were those taken? Dorus, that ladybug shot is an amazing moment to capture. Here are 3 shots from earlier this week:</p><div></div>
  25. <p>Hi Harry, I don't have any experience with the 77 and can't speak to it. The one thing I can say is that HD DA Limiteds handle harsh lighting much better than the FA 50 or FA 35 ever did. You should go out and shoot some action shots with your 77 and post them so we can see them. If 70 works well for me 77 might be even better. With sports, the widest aperture I have been using is f/2.8 (the 70 can open to f/2.4) with the majority of images shot at f/4. I'm looking to capture little details and keeping shutter speed up. Check out the face on this Defensive Tackle...</p><div></div>
