  1. You are in the right place, Mike. I have been shooting with the same Canon 5D MKIV since it was introduced. Still is my go-to camera. I also owned a 6D, 7D, 40D, 350D listed in reverse progression, I also have an A7R3 with Metabones 5 adapter, so all my Canon lenses work on it. That camera gets used and my second camera on paying shoots, The 5D MK IV is my go-to camera. They are still making it and servicing them. It is a good camera. My 6D took great photos too. Though it lacked a lot of features that the 5D MK IV has like more and better focus points, higher res, PC port for triggering studio flash. Great build quality. I have not used the 6D MK II. I know the price has come down on new 5D MK IVs. At this point while I would like to move to the new R5 MK II coming out, to upgrade with new lenses, I am not willing to start over and probably would need to spend $10,000 in R camera gear to get what I already have in EF-Mount. But who knows down the road, I might hit the lottery. 😗 But love my 5D MK IV while it has been amazing, wit the new Lightroom and Photoshop AI Noise reduction and enhance features, it has taken this camera to the next level. In fact, I probably at some point will start going through past shoots going back years and run those shots through the new AI features. But this is another story. Back to the point, the 5D MK IV is a great camera. You will have to decide what is right for you. Good luck and hope you participate in our Cano Photo Thursday. All welcome.

All are welcome to participate. Late postings are welcome. If you miss Thursday, feel free to add to the thread another day. Looking forward to seeing your shots. Pick up the camera and shoot something. Even if you didn't get out this week, you know you have some blast from the past stashed in your archives. We have a lot of regulars here reading. Jump in and post. Show us your shots. I know with the season everyone can get very busy. I would like to thank everyone who has been sharing in Canon Photo Thursday. It means a lot, making starting this thread every week worth wild. Thank you for your support. As always, I truly appreciate the support of our Canon friends and shooters. It's nice not to be left hanging. Thank you, everyone who has been participating. This week I have been playing with my Tilt/Shift lens. (Shooting with a Tilt/Shift is not required to participate 🙂 shoot with what you want.) And one of the shots I played with the color and B&W in Lightroom. I know, a very old effect but I did it. 3. New photo missions touring vehicle. Looks really nice. As far as the portrait, very late night, playing with a DIY soft box light I built using a warm 12VDC LED. G7ess I will have to make a article on it.
  4. Great to hear on the shooting. The thread needs some participants. Pretty bad turnout this this week. Were those stairs built by the park or is it a part of something else.

  6. Looks good. In my experience some of those L lenses really are built like tanks. Congrats. Looks like a winner. Looking forward to seeing more. happy shooting.

It's nice not to be left hanging. Thank you, everyone who has been participating. I took a very early Friday morning drive to San Francisco. Dropping my wife off at the airport, Sparks and I took a drive up the Great Highway to the Cliff House. I had not been there is a few years and thought it would be a fun photo mission. It was cold and overcast, low 50's along the ocean. People were wearing winter coats. A good 10 degree cooler than Monterey. I did at least have on a long sleeve shirt. Here are a couple shots around the Cliff House. The third shot is a beautifully restored Ford Bronco with surf boards ready to head to the beach. Hope you enjoy the shots. Canon 5D MK IV Here is the inside of the 60's Ford Bronco and some night shots in Joshua Tree
  8. Heading to Surf City. This restored Bronco belonged to Terry my camping neighbor who brought it down on a trailer behind his RV for the Monterey Car Show. He said he spent several years restoring it is including re-chroming the chrome. The inside looks just as nice and I will share a shot of that next week. I know it is not the same car, but it really reminded me of driving my pop's 1964 International Scout back in the 1970's. Sadly I missed the car show, I was to tired from not being able to sleep Thursday night until about 2:30am and then getting up at 4am to have my wife into TSA by 7am in SFO. The entire weekend was a wash with the sleep schedule messed up. lol. I enjoy your shots of Michigan. Did you ever get that 14mm.

  11. Just got the scoop from the Adobe support forum. At this time only the Canon Large RAW are supported by AI denoise. The Medium RAW and Small RAW formats are not currently supported. Good to know moving forward.

  13. I just noticed at looking at the two photo sizes, the compatible photos is LARGE RAW Format...The file that is incompatible is MEDIUM RAW format.
  14. I have posed this question in the Adobe Community website also. Is it a bug? So far, unresolved. I will update if there is a resolution. I am using the New Lightroom CC Version 12.3 with AI denoise. (Up to date according to Creative Cloud Desktop) RAW Photos I have imported recently from my Canon 5D MK IV this year (2023) RAW .CR2 files can use the AI denoise, no issue. Photos I imported last year (2022) from the same 5D MK IV camera with the same firmware and RAW .CR2 files get a the are not compatible. The only thing I can think of is these were imported with a previous version of Lightroom CC. Will I need to re-import the images with the newest Lightroom CC or is there some other issue? These are RAW files from the same camera. I am using a brand-new Window 11 Home Dell Alienware Laptop. Latest Windows 11, everything is up to date as far as software and drivers. Lightroom Classic Version 12.3 Edition Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

  16. Understood on I'm done. You have a good collection. I have sold off my older cameras, just have the 5D MKIV and the A7R3. I look at the R5 and see rumours of a new R5 Mk II, but can't bring myself to spend that money for something that probably won't improve my images. Maybe when the time comes I will look at used gear. Or more affordable options. Currently I just need to buy a sensor cleaning kit. After 5 or 6 years I finally got a spec of dust on my 5D MKIV sensor that won't blow off with my rocket blower. Getting tired of spot healing that spot. Picked it up in San Diego last fall. I should have got a kit then. As far as the P&S falling apart, maybe some duct tape. Lol.
  17. Is there a real camera stores around here? Monterey, Salinas or Carmel. Best Buy does not cut it. Or do have to head to a big city. LA and San Diego had some good stores. I imagine San Francisco should.....
  18. Yes, Moss Landing, Pacific Grove, Asilomar, a Train crossing somewhere East by Southeast of Salinas off US 101, Gonzales maybe...or near by... Hope the camera is fixable or you find another. Is that your only camera or just your only Canon?
