  1. Dave, Tougher shot due to the lighting and background but the bird is sharp and sets in its natural environment. Dave D

    Form and Function

Christy - beautiful image. Great clarity and composition. Did you just happen to be in the right place at the right time or did you stake out this spot and wait? Dave

    The Age of Innocence

Beautifully done. I saw an innocent child trying to look into the future with help from dad. The child will have to see his own future - but dad can provide a solid foundation as shown here.

I have greatly benefitted from PN member HONEST critiques and I GREATLY APPRECIATE all the SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT. I continue to ask for your feedback - both what is good but more importantly, what could be better. I will try to return the favor as best I can for all who participate by commenting on this image.

    Marbled White

Very well done. The butterfly is in perfect focus, the white flower adds interest and the blurred background eliminates distraction. Beautiful color.
  6. Of the series, I like this one the best. Great capture. Is this a tree swallow?

    MY GHOST

Looks more like an alter ego. Fun image.

    Pleasant to look at.
  9. This made me laugh involuntarily.

    Queen Mary 2

Tina - simple and very effective. Great POV to get scale and sense of depth or 3D. Clouds add interest and the ship near lower right power point is effective. Well conceived and executed.
  11. Dave great capture. Sharp and good color. Perfect framing. A true rare moment caught very well.

    Shapes

Nice capture. Sharp subject and blurred b/g. Since the ISO was 1250, I assume you did not use flash. How was the noise when enlarged?

    Bluejay

You might consider applying the rule of thirds if you have room on the original to crop differently. Placing the main part of the bird body on the right third line can make an image more interesting. You could also consider using a shallower depth of field; i.e., a larger aperture to blur out the background more. These are just thoughts you can always have in determining your final composition. The jay is perched well in this image. Many times one can have a branch or leaf in front which detracts from such a beautiful bird. Good eye contact as well.
  20. Great composition and perfect exposure settings. Excellent result.

Humorous juxtaposition. Enough said. Dave D

Great shot. Must be seen in larger view to appreciate the sharpness.
