Allen's Hummingbird on native Autumn sage (Salvia greggii) click on image to view larger

Note the pollen on the bird's beak and on the fringes of the upper lip of the flower.

You can see the yellow anther waiting to deposit pollen and the tiny end of the pistil (the stigma for those taking notes...) just above it ready to collect pollen already on the beak.

Wonderful details, colors, background and compo.

I especially like the position of the bird.
