I now need to replace a lens in my spectacles.

 3.
I don't like it all. Among other things, I miss the "Latest Arrivals" section.

 5.
Getting the camera up high is definitely a good idea. And then you'll need something to stand on—maybe one of those ladders with a railing so you don't fall off.

 6.
Paul, I think another issue is that you're probably comparing 100% screen views of the two images, but since the D7000 has more pixels, its 100% view magnifies the subject more than the 100% view from the D90. (Notice how the D7000 image shows less of the ruler.)

Another way of thinking about the same thing is that you may in effect be comparing the sharpness of a larger print from the D7000 with that of a smaller print from the D90.

You might want to try comparing crops that show the same subject area.

 7.
If you hope your child will excel at basketball or volleyball later in life, it's good to stretch her arms out while she's young.

 8.
Rick van Nooij, your second picture had me reeling with vertigo until I figured it out. Very cool!

 9.
Last week, I ordered four packages of negative filing pages, a five-pack of film, and a filter pouch from B&H. As usual, the order arrived promptly and extremely well packed.

This week, there's no room left in our recycling bin for dog food cans or gin bottles.

 11.

And I can go months without printing on [the 3880] and no clogs.

Same for me with the predecessor 3800.

 13.
Chris, your kitty pictures are wonderful—last week and this—thanks for sharing them.

 14.
D800E, 24-70, ISO 100, 1/200 @ f/11, White Lightning X-800 with shoot-through umbrella, silver reflector for fill, Vivitar 286 in back for rim light.

 15.
A related question: When saving as TIFF, Photoshop CC has various "TIFF Options," including "Byte Order," where one can choose IBM PC or Macintosh. What's the significance of the choice?

It defaults to Mac so I check PC since that's what I'm using, but I think sometimes I've forgotten, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

 16.
I have a Retina IIIc and like it very much but would caution that using the auxiliary lenses isn't much fun. You have to focus with the rangefinder, read the distance on one scale, then transfer that distance to a different scale. And of course the camera won't fold with the auxiliary lens attached.

Kent in MI

 17.

“Anything more than 500 yards from the car just isn’t photogenic.” – Edward Weston*

Makes more and more sense the older I get.

(*Sometimes attributed to Brett Weston or someone else but this is from John Paul Caponigro's site http://www.johnpaulcaponigro.com/blog/12034/23-quotes-by-photographer-edward-weston/ so I'm going with that.)

 18.
Daphne wiping off her bowling ball.

 19.
Oh, good!

I also have a IIIc and Summitar but no GBOOM. Just a GCOOL (Y2).

 20.
Just to be clear, I really like the pictures.

I thought "GBOOM" was somewhat humorous in this context in being suggestive of the sound made by a rifle or artillery piece. Maybe not so much.

 21.
Terrific pictures. And, somehow, "GBOOM" seems particularly appropriate for them.
