1.
I shoot a little 120 in my 645 now and then. I develop with Darkroom.com also.
Velvia 50, Tri-X 400, and Porta 400 is what I have laying around. I also have an old Voigtlander Bessa folder that takes 120 and can be fun to shoot. A real conversation piece too.
But I shot all modern cameras this week. :)
.
Town from the nearby trails we are currently skiing on. They are bike trails in summer. I liked how the town lights were reflecting off the clouds.
K-1 & Tamron 28-75
<a title="IMGP1795-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
Skiing some backcountry powder with my wife.
K-3 & 16-50
<a title="IMGP7435-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
Our kitty Astro in low light
K-1 & FA 77
<a title="IMGP1736-Edit-2" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

Douglas, really nice crane photos! Nicely done.
.
Thanks Hin! This boy, a friend, has probably been skiing since he could walk! He is a very gifted athlete with anything he does too.
The industry and ski towns need all kinds of skiers to stay afloat so we appreciate them all. Intermediate skiers will become advanced skiers given enough time. Anyway it's fun to see different perspectives on the sport I live so close to it's hard to get an objective look at.
Also the bokeh on that Fujinon is crazy! Never seen anything like it.
.
Cute pup Patrick!

 3.
I've never seen anything like that.
I have an A* 300/4 that has been in some rain and snow and come through unscathed although it doesn't have any sealing.

It's been cold and snowy here. We don't always get significant snow in town but we got a couple of feet, a day of clear skies and bitter cold, and now more snow that is supposed to be several feet again. I't really getting deep out there. Kind of fun since I can deal with it ok.
This is sunrise yesterday from my porch. It was -30 F and I didn't want to go far!
K-1 & 15-30
<a title="IMGP0838-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
Boiling water thrown into -26 air (and a sun dog).
K-1 & 15-30
<a title="IMGP0845-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
Skiing fresh powder today with my son and his friends. 5.
Douglas, congrats on the new camera! Looking like you are putting it to good use already.
Hin, nice to see you around here again. I also like that first shot the the flare made me laugh!
.
Happy New Year!
I have been off work this week, shooting a lot and having fun in the snow. I skied up the mountain again to get a fireworks and torchlight parade shot last night. Pretty fun and it was a beautiful night. I was happy the moon and Venus showed up too.
K-1 & 15-30
<a title="IMGP0733-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
We've done some good skiing too. 6.
I drove down to Taos, NM over the weekend to attend my office holiday party. The drive and Taos are very scenic! This time around the drive was less than ideal at times too due to weather but it just forced me to slow down and enjoy the countryside a little more (between whiteout conditions).
Cano's Castle in Antonito, Colorado
The guy who built this out of scrap and junk is a Vietnam vet and credits Jesus and marijuana as his inspirations. :)
K-1 & ff mod DA* 60-250
<a title="IMGP0301-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.

Sangre de Cristos from near Monte Vista
645D & 67 300/4
<a title="IMGP6667-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.

San Francisco de Asis Mission in Taos
645D & FA 45-85
<a title="IMGP6634-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

 7.
Here's a photo from 2004. Bad photo but you get the idea.

 9.
The town I live in, Gunnison, Colorado! :)
I took this photo last year when it was -25 (yes, I'm talking Fahrenheit) in town and colder as we went down to the lake. The truck thermometer was broken but I bet it was somewhere around -25 to -30. High for the day might hit 0 but not always.
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href=" title="IMGP1150-Edit">
We get these big inversions here where you can drive 30 Miles and be 40 degrees or more warmer. Clear and cold. If you spit, it bounces. Typically we get 1 to 2 weeks of that pattern a year.
Coldest I have seen was in 2004 when it was -38! Nothing works when it is that cold.

 10.
Thanks Douglas! She is our little snow beast! :)
Even though you didn't ask me, I've used my K-3 and 645D down to -28 F which is colder than I care to be out in for very long. I quit before the gear did! I think the temp ratings are the same across most modern bodies. Rotate batteries to warm pockets when they get cold and you should be fine.

 12.
I shot about 20 of these head shots in my "home studio" (basement music/photo/project studio) over the weekend for a project I'm doing with the local hospital. They want photos of people born at the hospital that will be prints in the newly remodeled OB unit.
It's been going pretty smoothly with a few small hitches here and then but I really like how most of the shots are coming out. Here are a couple.
K-1 & FA 77
<a title="IMGP6328-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
<a title="IMGP6345" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

We had our town tree lighting ceremony which is very popular with residents and tourists over the weekend too. 13.
K-70 is just newer so it has some newer tech but it is an enthusiast oriented body. The K-3II is a pro oriented body (more rugged, more physical buttons) but it's older. The K-3II replacement will undoubtedly leap-frog ahead again when it's released.

 16.
Vimeo is another option. If the video looks good until you put it in FB then try one of the other video hosting services. They are pretty heavy handed with compression at FB.

 18.
Thank you Douglas. I'm using the pursuit photography to escape all the politics!
I like that first woodpecker shot. Nice!
Hopefully things will pick up a little around these parts.

 19.
Kind of quiet around here lately! I'll toss a few into the mix.
I've got a big portrait project on the horizon for the local hospital so I have been trying to do more head shots this week to get some practice in.
Here is my niece shot with the K-1 & ff mod DA* 60-250/4 which is nice for this kind of shoot. 20.
I had a nice evening out with my pup at the creek. Here she focused on some deer a few hundred feet above us on a ridge.
