hi kombizz, thanks for your comment, but this monkey is not actually in captivity, he just happens to live near humans and managed to pinch a packet of smokes.

Scott, your version looks fake and ridiculous. It's obviously not meant to be a glamour modelling shot, just a happy girl in a beautiful place on a nice day.

    hi john,

thanks for your comments. I actually put the corner shadows in afterwards, i kind of like them :) You're absoulutely right about the lens spots though, they look pretty sloppy. My camera had been through some rough times and the sensor was covered in spots, but has been cleaned now :)

    Peace,

    Nick.

  1. hi, I usually find shots from the inside of churches boring and poorly done, but this is awesome! I quite like the slightly desaturated look, it lends a great atmosphere to the shot. congrats

    peace, Nick.

i see what you mean about the reflection, and i didnt notice at all! I think that effort wasnt so bad. Agree that the composition and everything else is good, and hey, I can only tell you about the PS mistakes because ive made exactly the same ones myself plenty of times.

hmm.. yea i hadnt thought about it too much, but now you mention it, it is pretty out of place. should be simple enough for me to take out.

    thanks for your comment.

Hi beth, sorry but I have to pull you up on some sloppy photoshop work. Firstly I think the blur you applied was far too strong, and the image now looks unrealistic, Im a big fan of the technique, but definitely bring it back a bit. And secondly, the selection was not so good around the right headlight and it looks like something weird is going on there.

    Good concept though, keep trying.

    peace,

    nick.

    hi,

i gave this a low rating because your subject is not sharp, actually, no part of the picture is sharp. This suggests that you didnt miss your focus, but were hand holding your camera with a shutter speed too slow, as will often happen indoors. I would suggest cranking up your ISO next time.

    Peace,

    Nick.
