I am finding that since shooting film a few months ago I find the colors to be much more accurate than the digital pics i have taken. Not only are they more accurate but they better represent what i SEE ...anyone else experience the same?

This is directed to anyone who visits this forum that lives In the Ottawa area in canada. i need to find a quality place that processes C-41 film as i just found out that costco no longer does it anymore. can anyone suggest a good lab that will do it at a reasonable price?

Hi all , I am seriously considering purchasing a 70-200 F/4 based on the over all great reviews it gets and its light weight. I would like to know however is if anyone has tried using it with the 1.4 teleconverter and if so, what were the results like? i do not like toting around the much heavier 70-200 F/2.8 or the 100-400mm f/5.6 as i much prefer lighter lenses and if i can get good results with a combination of this lens and th 1.4 teleconverter then thats the router i will take. Thanks in advance.

Hi all ,i am looking for a fast zoom lens to shoot indoor sports, hockey primarily. I am on a tight budget so the canon 24-70mm lens is out of the question.that basically leaves the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and sigma 24-70mm f/2.8.has anyone had any experience using either/both of these lenses and if so, how are they for indoor sports (autofocus , etc)?

I exported them as 100% quality jpegs? all i did to them was change the white balance..why would that increase a small jpeg to such a large jpeg file after export?

Hi all , I shot some pics today on my canon 40D at setting jpeg small (1936 x 1288) and then imported them into lightroom just to do some minor adjustments like cropping. when i exported them into my pictures folder however they had grown to about a6 MB file size and were 6000 x 4000 pixels! what happened?

Hi all I just bought a mint condition F100 that came with an sb-23 flash. I am totally clueless how to use this combination properly and need some advice. If i want to use it indoors should i use flash compensation or not? should i use a 80A filter to color balance with tungsten lighting instead of using flash? appreciate your help!

Hi there, i am very inexperienced when it comes to using film having just bought a used f100 and a hundred rolls of Kodak uktracolour 400UC. When I am using it indoors do i need to use any special type of filter , either when using flash or not using flash? thanks in advance!

hey kurt, speaking from personal experince after dropping my d50 in the ocean 2 years ago....I would forget about it and use it as a paperweight as mentioned...mine was basically DOA when i brought it into the local camera shop...the zoom action on the lens was so seized up it woiuldn't move...LOL lickily my travel insurance covered most of the cost of the camera...

Hey all, i cannot get my nikon d50 to replicate anything that is a deep purple..my mom wanted some pics of her very purple flowers but everythinhg came out a deep blue..i tried my canon a540 and the same thing..I can only assume that the sensores have trouble with this particluar color....how do i fix this and is this somehting other people have experienced?

Hi there i find that the grips on my 30D get quite slippery when shooting in damo or really humid weahter and are quite a bit harder in texture than my buddy's Nikon D300..DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY AFTER MARKET GRIPS, TAPE ETC THAT YOU CAN APPLY TO THE 30D TO GET A BETTER GRIP ?

Hi all, I am completely frustrated by both of my cameras i own (Nikon D50 and canon A540) inability to replicate purple. every time I shoot somemthing purple it comes out blue....I have no patience to try to correct it in photoshop...is this an issue with all digital cameras? Will shooting film correct the situation? does anyone own a digital camera that replicated purple in-camera? help!

I would like to purchase a 18-105 Vr lens but before spending the money will the camera sense the Vr function and not choose a high iso to compensate for camera shake? the D50 DOES NOT HAVE the feature of choosing the max iso like the d200, etc so i am concerned that iot will still pick a high iso like 1600 regardless of VR or not..?

yes, it still looked blue!

I was testing my new d50 yesterday (just shooting different coloured cars on the street) and everything was excellent until i photographed a purple car next to a blue one....the camera must have gotten confused cause the picture on the LCD showed both cars as blue !! ...has anyone else had an issue with this camera in terms of colour accuracy? could it have been a lighting situation ( I was photgraphing them on an overcast day near dusk....could this trick the camera's exposure ,meter?

I want soenmthinbg that a) isn't too heavy to lug around b) doesn't make me stick out like a pro photographer (guess that discounts all those white L lenses:)..I was thinking of perhaps the canon 200mm f/2.8 prime with a 1.4 or 2x teleconvertre..has anyone had experionce with this type of setup? how do the teleconverters affect focusing speed, etc? what would be better...a zoom or prime ?
