hi all...I am cureently looking to upgrade to an slr and have basically narrowed it down to the canon 40d and the
nikon d200/300.....having only handled the canon 40d very breifly I would like to know which camera would be easier
for a beginner to use in terms of intuitive controls/menus etc (I have read that the Nikon menu system can be quite
confusing/daunting to learn?).....thanks!

Hi there, I am just starting to get into digital photography.....I would like to photograph indoor sports, specifically ice hockey...which lens would be a
good lens to start with (I cannot afford canon 70-200 unfortunately!!)....would it be better to get a cheaper image stabilsed lens like a canon 17-85
IS or is it better to get a constant aperture like a sigma 18-50 2.8..?

Hi all, I am just about to embark on my search for my first DSLR and I have
narrowed to two cameras the canon 30D and the Nikon d200 ....my main concern is
speed of focusing as I look to shoot a lot of sports (hockey primarily) with
this in mind does one model offer superior focusing speed over the other? also
which lens would eb a good lens o shoot inside a venue like a hockey
rink.appreciate any help on these topics...thanks!

Hi there I am in the midst of buying a SLR and have narrowed it down to either canon 30/40D or nikon d200/300 ....given that they have
the most lenses available in my city to rent/buy......my decision is basically down to which brand (model) will produce the lowest amount of
noise at the higher ISO (800 and up)? I havew read conflicting articles about the CCD in nikons being better than the CMPOS sensors
but have yet to see any real world pictures comparing the two (allI have seen are 100% crops) which to me is not a realistic picture..I want
to be like to look at 2 pics , say 8 x 10 from each camera and be able to see visible differences..can anyone provide pics, links showing
differences bewteen the two brands? thanks in advance!
