I have calibrated laptop. The fur looks white and as Tony mentioned there are patches on chest and knees. But the patches on chest looks orangish-light brown to me. No they are not pink.

Thank you all for the valuable feedback. I have one question:

I opened the NEF in CS5, did adjustments. Now when I want to save a copy of NEF. But, Adobe is not allowing me to save in NEF. Its providing DNG, PSD, JPG, TIF. Why is that so. How would I preserve the original and keep (the adjusted one as) copy?
Also please let me know what is the purpose of .XMP file that is created while saving (note I saved as DNG).

Looking forward,

Regards,

Hi,

I didn't know that I can open NEF file directly in Photoshop CS5. Till now I have been using DNG converter to convert NEF in DNG and opening the later in Photoshop.

If I can open NEF in CS5 for editing then why convert into DNG?

Pardon my ignorance, but please let me know the usage of NEF and DNG.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks Sheldon.

Thanks Robert. I read in articles (that was applicable in previous versions) that the sum of percentage should come to 100. In CS5 there are more colors than previous ones.

Thank you. Need one clarification. Should be date be full date or just year. And why some mention like Copyright 2010-2011 (two years).

Hello,

For the prints for exhibition do I need to have my signature? If so then what it could be. For instance

Copyright MYNAME

Copyright MYNAME YEAR (Range of years or just current year?)

MYNAME

MY NAME YEAR (Range of years or just current year?)

Or something else?

Looking forward,

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hello,

I am intending to go for exhibition next year. I have some questions in my mind and am sure will get good responses and food for thought from this forum:

1) Right now I have not decided upon the topic/theme. Would be grateful if you give some ideas.

2) Can I do without some topic/theme? Can I exhibit my random work?

3) What should be the minimum number of the photographs to exhibit?

4) What should be the minimum size of the prints?

5) Any thought on framing.

There are many other questions that I believe are bit pre-mature to ask at this stage. If you have other points to let me know, please do so, would be grateful.

Regards,

I don't think so. Art is with us and will stay forever. A photograph can be a medium to demonstrate art.

Hello all,

Just to know are you using any specific sequence in Photoshop for adjusting the photo. Steps I use are:

1) Set Exposure

2) Set Hue/Saturation

3) Brightness/Contrast

And if I want to do B&W , I use Channel Mixer right after settling exposure.

Majorly I use these above mentioned Image/Adjustments tools in Photoshop.

Looking forward.

Thanks Brooks. I am using Nikon D60.

Where to put/use of Camera RAW.8BI file?

-

Hi,

Would be grateful if someone could help me in this. I am using Adobe Photoshop CS2 v9.0.2. As per Adobe I have to use Adobe DNG Converter 3.7. I installed the same in put in my Adobe folder. When I try to convert the NEF file I get message that there is an error in parsing. The installation folder also contains the CameraRAW.8BI file that I dont know where to put in or how to use. I believe its some update file.

I am sure I am missing a point here.

Thank you in anticipation.

Engela,

Channel Mixer is another method for converting image to black and white. Its more effective option than others. People say that Red, Green, and Blue cumulative percentage should be 100 percent, but, I have broken this few times. In my opinion do not use the Contract of Channel Mixer.
