Giangiorgio, This heron is so very close to our Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) they could easily be mistaken for each other! Well done! -

Well done Giangiorgio! It is not so much the technical side of this image, but the impact of the scene! It appears that both birds have drawn blood! I would be proud of this image! -

Beautiful image Giangiorgio! A difficult bird to light properly but you have succeeded! They are very similar to the Snowy Egret in the U.S. -

Giangiorgio, A wonderful image!! I have seen this behavior in a similar bird we have in the U.S., a Great Blue Heron. I was told by a birder that is in response to warm weather. The bird opens the wings to facilitate cooling and ends up looking like a dirty old man! As usual your imagery is also very well done from a technical standpoint. I look forward to your images!!
