1.
KEH also has the Tamron 10-24mm 3.5-4.5 for about $350. I just bought one myself. On your camera it would be 15-36mm field of view. Pretty wide. Best between F5.6 and F8 for sharpness, but it's a fun lens. KEH is really good with their stock. I bought an EX+ and it looks and feels brand new.

 2.
Not crazy about the new site, but I just got a great deal on a lens, so I'm not complaining. They do take feedback about the site. They acknowledge my complaints with a personal email, so maybe if we all say how we feel, it will get fixed faster. I prefer their main web site over the ebay store.

 3.
$125 for a full day shoot seems pretty low ball. I think you need to think about how many shots each room needs (4-5+), how many outdoor angles, distance shots, close ups, etc. You might want to use Google Street View to get an idea of what's in the area and see the kinds of houses you'd be dealing with. Zillow could tell you what's in the house as far as how many rooms, bathrooms, garage, etc. Plus, are you doing mid-day to evening shots? Golden hour shots are very attractive. For our shopping centers, we pay two grand a day for outdoor shots only. Not sure what residential is going for. Usage fees need to be done up front. If it's a hired position, they will want full ownership of the photos. That's what we do. They may not even let you use them. You need to clarify this with them. I'd stay away from HDR with photos used for selling property. They need to look good and crisp, but not to the point of false advertising.

 4.
There used to be something like this in the wedding category, but having it open to general photos would be a good idea.

 5.
The D90 has 11 focus points, the D7100 has 51. With moving subjects I find using 9 points on the D7100 works better and also setting the camera to 3D tracking. Works pretty well, even with video. Also, you're going from 12mp's to 24mp's and the D7100 really does take advantage of good glass. Like you I have the 35mm 1.8, but the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 and I get really good results with them. It just takes time to get used to it.

 6.
If you don't mind refurbished equipment. There's a pretty good sale going on right now. HERE. A D7100 for $889 or even a D3100 for $225.

 7.
He might be using dual layer DVD's and your laptop can only read single layer.

 8.
Forgot to add. The Nikon 3X00 and 5x00 series don't have a focusing pin, so you'll have to use AF-S lenses if you want autofocus and the viewfinders are so small that focusing manually is really not that great or accurate, IMO.

 9.
As someone who actually had an Olympus E-500 I can tell you that you would be disappointed with the functioning of the D3300. I actually wrote about it a couple of years ago HERE. The first major issue was this. The Olympus E-500 has dedicated white balance, AF, ISO, metering, drive mode, one touch white balance and focus point buttons on the back of the camera. Neither the D3X00 or the D5X00 series has this and you will notice the difference every time you have to go into the menu and change something. It can take a lot of time. Even with a customized menu. I liked the D5100, the IQ was great. I should have bought the D7000, at the time. I kept the D5100 for about a year, got fed up and brought a D7100. I couldn't be happier. It does have a learning curve compared to the E-500, but it's a great camera. It takes time to get used to, the resolution is high (24mp). Not using stabilized lenses will be apparent if your handheld technique is not good and it will bring out every flaw in a cheap lens. I keep a grip on mine, gives better balance for me.

 10.
Have you seen the Wacom Companion? It's a full fledged Windows 8 machine tablet. It's expensive though, like $2K. You can add an external monitor and keyboard as well.

 11.
Sketchbook Pro from Autodesk. Very good program. versions for iPad and Mac, Android, iPhone and PC. You can use just about any stylus, but if you want pressure sensitivity you need a Adonit Jot, a Wacom Bamboo. There's more out there.
There's also ArtRage.

 14.
Overall, I like the aesthetics of the site. It looks better. Functionally, still playing around with it, but searching seems like it gives the same results. The old one was just so outdated in its looks.

 15.
No control over aperture (been a sticking point with Nikon).
From Nikon: The maximum recording time is 29 min. 59 s*. * With [Normal] selected for [Movie quality]. 20min. with [High quality].
Video quality is excellent, but I always record audio with separate device.

The way around this is to get an HDMI recording device. The D7100 will stream directly to the disc. Something like a Atomos Ninja would do.

 16.

i have been looking at the 5300, how different is it from the 5200

Not much. 1 stop better, a little lighter. But as was said already, I had a D5100 and manual focusing is not good. I have a D7100 now and loving it. Paired with a wireless remote and live view, taking landscapes is really good. What I didn't like about the D5100 was the dependency on the menu system for so many functions. Images are great though.

 17.
If you have other lenses, I'd consider a D7100, which you can find for about $1100 or under if you go refurb. Brand new, you can get a d5300 around $745. A nice used/refurb'd D7000 would be good too. What lenses are you using?

 18.

do you know any freeware of same caliber?

Nope. ColorImpact is only $40. Color Schemer is $50, but it does so much more. It's what I use. Your not stuck with just complements. You can see split complements, triads, tetrads, analogous and mono. You can create your own schemes, export them as .ase files to use with PS, IND and IL. You can download premade schemes, pull the colors out of a photo to create a new palette, take one color and build a scheme, create schemes for the color blind and a whole lot more. It's worth fifty bucks. I use it almost every day. It pays for itself in time saved.

 19.
To see it visually, if you have a Mac, download ColorSchemer software. If you have a PC, download TigerColor's ColorImpact. You can demo the software and see the colors in real time.

 20.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned. Does anyone prefer the "pro" 3 or 4 button top arrangement on the D300/D700/D800 compared to the D7100/D600/D610 versions? Does the current button arrangement on the DX versions seem slower in use for people? I find it pretty easy to find the buttons with my left thumb.
When I was ready for an upgrade, I looked at the D600 and D7100 together. It was almost like holding the same camera. The layout is practically identical. As just a guy who likes to take photos and not photography for a living per se, the D7100 did everything I wanted for $900 less, with 51 auto focus points practically across the viewfinder compared to 39 in the middle, 60p video, with stereo, 1/8000 compared to 1/4000. The D600 has bigger, brighter pixels, but the D7100 is no slouch. With the grip, it's got a nice heft to it, but still isn't bulky. Now a friend of mine who is a pro event photographer won't give up his D300's for anything less than going full frame because of the buffer issue. He's still waiting for the mythical D400 himself.

 21.
If Corel is smart, they'd step up their game with AfterShot now and glean some Aperture users.

 22.
Has anyone had a problem getting the 0.9.2 beta to work? Keeps telling me that I have to be connected to the Internet and won't open up.

 23.
Naaahhhh, but it caught my attention. I do buy from them. I buy from Adorama, KEH and I've got two local shops in my town.
But you'd think they would have included some kind of rack system. Especially for manual focusing.
