Hello Jim Me again , Here is an example, See the goose on the left of the Girl ? it has shades of green in it. to compare look at the chests of the other two geese to her wright? There is allot less green, why is that ? you see your cameras sensor only records light in shades of gray, and if the white balance is not set correctly the light seems to bleed off from one part of your picture to the others. More so the color most dominate. in the case of the green grass, the grass is making this shot more on the green side, you can correct this in photo shop with color saturation , But it is always a best practice to get the shot wright the time you take it so as to have less time in post processing. get to know the history gram on the info setting on your camera , it will never lead you wrong , and always set ae lock with custom white balance , just do not forget to reset it for other lighting conditions, your camera only records from the Gama scale of gray tones, it is only your printer and your image processor on your camera that turns them to color. I am going to graduate soon from the New York Institute of photography soon , I am taking the professional photography coarse, and one thing i have learned is color and lighting corrections. There is a few shots in my pot that needs to be taken out before i started the class. Check out lynda.com as well it is worth the 25 dollars a month, you will love it. Keep up the great shooting and feel free to e-mail me if you have any thoughts on my work as well . that is why we are here ? to learn I guess?peace! Gordon H./ email/grdnholman@yahoo.com

Hello Jim, Gordon H here, I was wondering if you use a gray or white card to lock custom white balance before you make your shots ? It seems to me ,or maybe it is just me but you have some noise in this one and a few others like it , the poses and composition are perfect, but to me it seems that the softness of skin tones are lost do to lighting conditions. please tell me what you are doing in my portfolio i am curios ? And please don't get me wrong You are a pretty awesome photographer in my book !

cool image , but your lens is dirty, and you need a UV filter . the sun has totally blown this one out and frankly a lot of noise going on, but other than that I think it is pretty cool!

This reminds me when I had three coyotes for pets , they where only 5 weeks old when I got them, they wanted to rip my fingers off , but in a few weeks they where rolling over like a dog to let me pet there belly's. And I found out on line that they loved water melons, man did they tear it up , they actually fought over it. Get some and bait them with it in the same spot you took this picture, make sure you cut it open , hew knows ? do this for a while , or a few times and watch out hiding in a blind and you might get some more shots of them . later Gordon H.
