full zoom at 1440mm in not so good lighting. But, I finally saw what I
think is a Blue Heron right here in the city by the river... not the best
shot but I didn't want to get too close and scare it off.
Grainy, mooshy, rainy shot of a Crane. the water almost looks milky.
this is way across the lake at full 1440mm zoom... and that is the
closest I have been able to get in years. maybe the rain had something
to do with it not being scared off like previous attempts.
getting rid of the border, I use PhotoShop 7.0... it is hard to see here
but everytime I copy part of an image, select File New and paste it puts
in a small border.... grrrr...
how do I get rid of that?

This photo appeared on the Readers' Digest publication More of Our
Canada magazine Jan 2012. they cropped my original image and
fixed up the colours in the foreground, something I could not do with
my limited Photoshop knowledge. it has not been cold enough
since 2011 to get the same effect on the river
