one more ice climber shot

I liked this one because of the contrast of ice, rock face and different lighting. the way the ice and rocks flow, it seems to naturally draw your eye to the red climbers jacket -

the sun was just starting to come over the mountain from the right side, creating a nice shadow and spot light effect. -

Ice climbing in Waterton

I wanted to capture the size of the climb, without losing the person in the image so I positioned him in the bottom right corner to catch your eye. did it work? -

I have submitted so many closer up shots of the geese over the years I decided to try something new. check out my 2011 section and/or Canada Geese section. A few have been published, one on the cover of More of Our Canada magazine Jan 2013 put out by Readers Digest. another was on National Geographic's Daily Dozen I have just submitted another closer up shot now. to me, the fog makes the picture... otherwise it's just a bunch of geese. -

the way the sunset hit this deer carcass on the river, made it look like it was on fire. yes, it is a bit unsettling, but that is nature at work -

As the sun was setting today, the lighting really worked for me. this is untouched right out of the camera. I played around with cropping, curves etc. but could not find a way to make it better, so I left it as is. -

Hi Andrew it was dark on the middle, no sun beams there at all. the storm clouds came in from that side and the sun from the opposite / top. I appreciate you taking the time to comment -

found some old shots after buying a new computer and restoring all archived files... backup, backup, backup... 1.5 TB drive can hold zillions of photos and save untold hours of recovery time vs JUST CDs or DVDs
