    no idea what kind of bird this is... took me forever to get this shot in the rain... they don't stay still for very long. 1440mm zoom, 7 fps burst mode, handheld.

    it really fascinates me that a simple point and shoot camera can focus in on a single blade of a plant at the maximum 1440mm zoom and retain this much detail !

    right out of the camera, not a macro, this is at 1440mm zoom against sunset. trying to just get this sliver of a plant and this caterpillar happened to crawl into view.... sweet
