Lucas, nice photo. Love the colors, and also the detail on the bottom versus the almost dreamy appearance of the canopy. Great composition. Was this particular trunk elevated from your vantage point, or did you have to get down and dirty?
I love forest photography like this (as you'll see in my gallery).

Thanks much for your insights...

I second the opinions already given on the color - fabulous! The frost is like a hand-painted artistic border. I really like this image, nice work. This reminds me, and I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I do wish it would snow sustantially at least once here in eastern Pennsylvania so I can go out and find some nifty frozen things to take pictures of.

I also found the brown spot distracting. What about a crop for vertical orientation? You might not need so much of the lightly wooded area in the background...

Yikes, that gives me the willies...so I'd say it's a very effective photo. Nice work. I like the background choice, too...is that part of the natural scene or a placed background of some sort?

Two turkeys. On a hill. In front of a Turkey Hill mini mart. ;-)
Location was near a busy intersection, right next to the PA turnpike. If you're from eastern
Pennsylvania, you know that Turkey Hill brand iced tea is quite popular. Maybe this photo
would not have appeal if you aren't from the area (i.e. inside joke)?

David - great shot, I really like the subject...smooth, colorful, shiny. Right away I thought wow, you could probably get a nice stock photo fee for it. I'm not sure what constructive criticism I could add. (I'm new on this forum and want to spend some time reading before I stick my virtual neck out much more...)

Alpo - nice gallery. It reminds me - I gotta get out of the office more and out with my camera! I posted a few photos under my profile. As soon as I get some free time, I'll have to read a little more about uploading more stuff to this site. Thanks for sharing!

Totally awesome shot, I love it! You achieved this by reversing a lens? I'm not familiar with that technique...
