    Self-Reflecting

          4

I was just sitting outside cleaning my camera, when i turned at the

glass doors seen my reflection and clicked off this shot. Hope you

appreciate the impromptu with no set up this image catches. Fair,

honest comments and critiques always welcomed. Thank you.

  1. Hayder, Thank you for you comments on the photo's creative merits, but I must defend today's soldiers and retort on your wayward political slight. You are wrong on so many levels of your view of the Iraqi war it's hard to begin. Unfortunately you are a victim of the CNN, MSNBC and main stream medias biased, untruthful coverage of the war. WW2 was the greatest generation because the country worked together to win wars not shoot our military in the back. The liberals in politics, the media, and Hollywood have degraded, undermined, attacked, and basically done everything possible to see the defeat of America morally and on the battle field. I won't use this forum to cite (factually) the reasons, effects, importance and necessity of the war, but perhaps you will do some independent research and clear your head on the matter. Also enjoy as this current Administration deconstruct our Constitution, destroy traditional American values, plunders our wealth and dictates your rights as he defines it. Obama now has 22 Czars he appointed...22!! Makes Bush look like a saint. Good luck defending that and pray your children, grand-children can survive under it. God bless our troops in the past, at the present and God help us, in the future. Terrorist know they have us cowardly retreating under Obama's spineless policies and the smell of our weakness is like steroids to their hate and murder. Sleep peacfully tonight---tomorrow you may not.

Thanks to our military men and woman America has been blessed, so far.

  2. hey Warren, I was there on Sunday there was a delay due to weather, but overall it was a great day and show. Nice capture on this photo! Might want to add some contrast so the planes jump out more from the background. One of these days I'll get my pictures from the air show on here! Enjoy the Memorial weekend and remember those who fell defended our country.

    God-bless, <>< Sonny <><

  3. Thank you Jody. I appreciate and understand your point, but I was seeing this as a sort of pathway from the shadows of the stones to the light if you get my reference. Instead of highlighting the stones (which represent the buried past) I wanted to focus on the light, the promise beyond the grave. I wanted the eye to follow the line of head stones towards the light. Inspirational to the reward, hope and life beyond the grave. Maybe even seeing the tree as symbolic of the 'Tree of Life'. Thanks again. I hope I accomplished my vision for this photo or at least explained my vision. This is an important piece of work for me personally and I really appreciate your comments.
  4. Taken while visiting my cousin's grave site at Pinelawn National

Cemetery. I want to get this displayed and would like feed back before I

have it processed. Thank you. <>< Sonny <><

remember our fallen heroes in prayer this weekend and everyday.

  5. Statue honoring US service men and woman. I took this on National

Armed Forces Day during a local Tea Party rally in protest of the current

U.S. administration. Comments are welcomed, but this was taken more

as a tribute for our American heroes we call Veterans.

  6. Thanks Warren! It was beautiful day. I live in Ronkonkoma not far away. I always struggle with both cropping and framing so it does finally just come down to preference of the photographer. In my personal album I'll crop, frame, this, that and the other, but sooner or later a choice has to be made! Thank you for your time and comment. Maybe one day we'll see each other along the boardwalk snapping away!! God-bless, <>< Sonny <>
  7. Taken on 4 -25-09 at Robert Moses State Park on long Island, NY. Your

comments are why I'm here; to learn, grow and for that occasional boost

of encouragement. Thanks for viewing. <>< Sonny <><

Interesting textures and imagery. Lots of patterns and focal points going on. The flooring tiles (stones) and the light all draw your eye towards the open door....Also the confinement of the space almost urges you to run for the open door (in your mind as you view this photo) before it closes you in. interesting work! good job!! <>< Sonny <>

    Tranquility

Taken at a beautiful, off the beatin' path, lodge in S. Africa. We stayed

for 3 days and it was amazing. The name of this inn: 'Tranquility Lodge'.

I shot this with just the light from the lantern, unposed. Hope you enjoy

the mood and warm of this moment. Comments always appreciated.

  8. Hey Ross!

Greetings from your friend south of the border! Hope all is well with you and your loved ones. I really like the perspective used in these shots. Gives it some drama. The saturated colors really adds to the depth and projects a real autumn 'gloominess' working perfectly with the graveyard and church.

Many nice shots in this set. I always enjoy checking in on your work and I'm never dissapointed. Would love to come up to Canada some time and expierance the fall way up there!! Heck I'm too busy to capture the great foilage right here in NY!!!

Anyway....... always a pleasure, be well! I'll be baaaackk!

I really like the tone in this photo not to mention the innocent, cute look in his face. Beautiful capture a winning portrait to be framed! Well done, regards- <>< Sonny <><
  9. Too cute. I get a lot of grief about whether to frame a picture or not. I personally like framing, but that's the artist call. I think this photo works either way. Beautiful capture nice shot! She is adorable! <>< Sonny <>

    Pudding

My 2-yr old Grand-son Anthony. One of those impromptu moments

children are famous for. I saw him discard the spoon and started digging

in with his hands. So I grabbed my camera and when I aimed he just

froze and posed! Comments always appreciated. <>< Sonny <><

Sunny, sexy and disturbing both in a very good way. Much to ponder and discuss when viewing this photo. I can only wonder if there is a psychological point to this or is it pure superficial imaginative work. In either case it's what separates a good photograph from an excellent photograph the ability to bring about discussion and the fun of digging in behind the meaning (even if there is none). Anyway you add the sexiness the 'painting' adds the drama. Very nice work, I’ll be back! <>< Sonny <><

ps thanks for stopping and looking at my work “40 Years gone, but not forgotten”. I too tried to bring in discussion as to the whys and meaning of the tones, blurriness and aged look.
