Excellent subject, good lighting, fair perspective (a wider angle with more of the floor in the exposure I think would have anchored this shot nicely), poor framing (the symmetry is all but lost, a better crop could restore it though)

    Detroit City Buck

I saw this 12 pt. on the way home today at Plymouth and Outer Dr.

which is firmly in the City of Detroit. It absolutely blew my mind.

All critics welcomed. Thanks for taking a look.

  1. The Ren Cen of Downtown Detroit, symbolizing many aspects of

Michigan, and in particular Southeast Michigan, not the least of

which is the foot hold the "Big Three" American automobile

manufactures have on this metropolitan area. As the auto companies

go so does Detroit. The fountain, gradually waning in light and

flow, gradually will become silent and de-luminated as the evening

progresses, as will Detroit when our "evening" arrives. The city

has lived by the sword for over a hundred years however she may die

by the sword soon due to the state of American auto companies.

  2. Funny you say that Joe. It was scheduled for demolition but Detroit's City Council (most ignorant collected group of elected officials on Earth) said they had a plan for development. However the plan did not include a development stategy, nor an investor, nor the funds. Hence the "plan" was stalled and there she stands.

This shot taken a few weeks ago is my first and only lightning

shot. Inspired by PN's own Ken Fugate, who's portfolio I highly

recommend. When it comes to these shot's, I've learned, patience,

patience, patience. I've found myself rooting for foul weather. I

think my priorities could use a realignment. Thanks for taking a

    look.
