love that face of the man on the rhs. thought he was smoking, but suppose it's a lollypop he has in his mouth. cute :-)

the man who looks like a lamp adds an element of burlesque. nice one

it's all about lines here. like how you effectively divided the frame into contrasting areas. only the slant in the buildings feels a bit wrong here, but apart from that, it's very good work

excellent street. you could improve the colors a bit (seems to have a slight blue cast), but you caught the moment, which is far more important than minor technical niggles. congrats

keep wondering if I should hang this one up in the toilet against the

wall in front of whoever the seated guest may be :-)

for me this lacks a personal involvement of a portrait, mainly because there is no eye contact with you (doesn't have to have eye contact, but this particular photo needs it.). same goes for the composition; in this case the chopped off toes are a letdown. The angle is also wrong here, resulting in horizontals with an unappealing slant. The photo gives me the feeling you took this in a hurry, and from a too far distance.

very nice color work. also gotta love all those small frames, which reminds me of one of those homemade quilts. And then of course the combination of the man and cat. terrific

very nice work. very nice composition. the left upper part with the cars lets it down a bit, but you probably got the best out of the situation, and the rest of the picture more than makes up for it. wonderful mix of figures in motion, shattered leaflets and shadows.

great place and subject, and love how you manage to show it with that angle. One niggle, though, the whites of the man's scarf lacks any detail, which is a bit of a let down for an otherwise impressive photo

overall a very pleasing photo, with a nice juxtaposition between the two men and then those fish between them. The b&w conversion is very pleasing for the eye. the only thing that lets it down is the lights on top of the image, which you burned over obviously in post processing.

composition-wise I would either have liked to see a bit more space on the lhs, or the bench cropped off; it's the vertical of the bench so close to the border of the photo that doesn't work too well for me.

the photo has everything for a graphic feel, but I think you edited it a bit too roughly. especially the whites are too harsh (man's face). Still, overall good work

  1. had the same thought process. found the top part distracting and too much (or, too little space above the bridge). and same here, I find it much stronger (actually very good) with only the dark arch part of the bridge on top.

Fantastic story telling. Great how all these elements come together. Assume that the 3 parts (the couple, the lady on the right, and the man with the cap) have absolutely nothing to do with eachother, but it really seems they are connected by some storyline.

well, I would be seriously tempted to crop out the top part, just so that the clock on the left remains in the picture.

Apart from that, it's a very strong observational photo. The man with the cane is an incredibly strange character. The looks going his way say it all really. Compositionally it's quite strong, with all their faces visible (even the man with the cane is nicely reflected). A bit more space at the bottom might not hurt, but I suppose the view was blocked (left bottom corner). A very intriguing photo. The kind you like to sit back for and take a long good look.
