Thanks in advance for any comments. I wonder if perhaps more should

be cropped from top of frame? In some ways I like the compo as it is

but the top isn't doing that much. Also apologies for small bit of

flare on top right - I was shooting in direction of sun and forgot

my lens hood! Look for faces in the shop all looking at the unusual

character outside looking in!

well, I would be seriously tempted to crop out the top part, just so that the clock on the left remains in the picture.

Apart from that, it's a very strong observational photo. The man with the cane is an incredibly strange character. The looks going his way say it all really. Compositionally it's quite strong, with all their faces visible (even the man with the cane is nicely reflected). A bit more space at the bottom might not hurt, but I suppose the view was blocked (left bottom corner). A very intriguing photo. The kind you like to sit back for and take a long good look.

Hi Koen.

Your comments are very much appreciated. I have now done a 5:4 crop losing the section above the clock and it does work much better. I keep coming back to this picture again and again to look at it and keep noticing different things. When I took the photograph my main intention was to capture the guy standing in the doorway and the guy having his haircut. Then this other character walked along. At first I just wanted to get the man's face but then he stopped and looked into the window, and I noticed the man in the doorway looking at him. It was when I looked closer at the picture that I saw it had even more with the man having his haircut also looking at him, as well as the men in the back of the shop and even thae "standing up" rabbit in the window! This was the first time I have decided to shoot in this street and there was so much else to see there as well - I think it could become one of my favourite areas!

I would have liked to have kept more in frame at the bottom as you mentioned, but this was difficult with the obstruction that was there (an parked vehicle). Temptation was there to clone out the small bit of obstruction that shows, but then I thought "what the hell - that's life!"

Thanks again Koen.

Pete
