What do you think of this combination, anyone tried before , any idea? Should I buy this lens?

-
What do you mean vintage lenses? M42/Yashica-Contax/Pentax K etc etc ? Or older than these? Another issue is that , without a Fresnel screen,or chipped adaptors it's not so easy to focus with Canon DSLRs...

A bit slow guys... During the film days ( and still so ), street photography developed within itself by attempts of many photographers so it took a very long time for us to see frontiers which are just a few. Although the technique in photographic era did not change significantly, the equipment did. Digital century changed many things (the access to a camera became more easy I think) so number of the unqualified photographers (like me), increased ,as the qualified ones stood same accordingly.
I believe that-of course this is my idea- when ordinary photographers increased, although this should make contrast with valuable ones and make them more valuable, it didn't happen so. The high trend of digital PS camera using made street photography so ordinary that, the decreasing attention to this category made the superior samples seem to be invaluable too. This may seem to be a raw idea but, when it comes to public opinion , it may become true. For example, when I showed my father the GW's works, he revealed them excellent although he has no idea what street photography is, but when I presented him today's ordinary samples mixed into today's frontier samples of street photography, he saw no difference , likely all of them were bad. ? While shooting film (35mm and medium) digital era took my attention, first could afford a compact HP 525 then Pentax ist DL (which accepted my old PK lenses) and finally EOS 400D as the winner. All of the chronology was a result of my web reading, nothing else...MF

I wonder, do you have all of your lenses hood mounted while shooting in daylight outdoors? Does this really help for
better metering and reduce lens flare? Or does it just depend on the direction of the light coming in?

I have two spare Ansmann batteries with my Canon one. I'm happy abour their durability. Give it a try...

I have one on XTİ / 400D . If the point is pro look, I'm not on that side. But when I use the grip, periods between recharges are long and my shots are more steady because extra weight gives me better handling. That's my point...

Let's say , Mr./Ms .X has an 1.6x cropped DSLR, just on his/her way. He/she loves to shoot daily basis, I mean
streets, children, the flower in the park ,etc. What would you recommend to Mr./Ms. X? Which lens(es) to go out
with?

What a rule man!!! Amazed with the talk... Thanks for all replies...

I own both Kiev 60 and Kiev 6c. Mine is different from you've mentioned. I think Kiev factory used auto-compressors for printing scales on camera. Maybe, yours can be a refurbished one...

And good news, it is extremely sharp... You won't miss your 18-55 kit lens... Take a look at its review...

I would prefer Canon EF 50mm /1.8 , it's very cheap, It provides me enough distance to shoot street portraits, althougs its AF is a killer, I prefocus manually with f/8 or narrower. It worked well for me... MF

What does this exactly mean? What is its origin? Is it a general belief, or a real rule?
-
Add something at 55-200 mm range, from Sigma or Canon and have fun with that. Or try another challenge, Canon EF 1.4 or 1.8 . The second gives more artistic shots with bokeh. ?

The story of my interest in photography starts with old folder MF cameras and includes several darkroom hours
inhaling oxided vapour of chemicals. I was happy, indeed happy at those days, while dealing with my 6x6 square
negatives and brick weight cameras. It may sound silly, if I told you I slept with my old Kiev 60 and Pentacon 6. I
didn't tell you that, please say I did not.
Well , let's leave this behind , and come back with the truth. For about 3 years , I go on my journey with DSLRs, like
Pentax ist DL --> Canon EOS 400D. The main point of my question is; if I decide to turn back to MF once again,
keeping the possibility of digital back compatibility, which MF system do you offer me to restart with? In which I'll
have less headache while using latest digital backs, or while trying to find second hand lenses? What's your offer?
Thanks in advance... MF

I have one ,that I achieved from a guy in Ukraine. The camera is a piece of art, the lever missing can easily be replaced from another FED or Zorki. Don't mind that... MF
