1.
Thanks for the info on the battery. I never thought about it. I have a criscam converter. I'll try it with the silver oxide 386. Who would you recommend to replace the foam?

 2.
There are a number of models of each some are better than others but if you have not used Leica lenses before it does not matter you will be pleasantly surprised by whichever you choose.

 3.
Very good price, especially if it needs not CLA. For CLA: Dagcamera, Sherry Krauter, Youxin Ye, & there are others.

 4.
You need to have someone knowledgeable about cameras, especially Leica to look at it. From personal experience I have found that cameras stores for long periods of time need servicing. From the photos it looks like your camera and lens may have some serious issues.

 5.
According to the serial number is was manufactured in 1974. I assume both versions will fit. Also, what is the model number of the shade/hood?

 6.
Recently I picked up a Canon F1 (which will be going out for foam replacement) but it did not come with a lens. The camera is basically in pristine condition as it was never used. It still had the plastic protector in the film chamber protecting the shutter. I want to match the camera withe appropriate lens or lenses of the early 1970's that would have come with the camera. Since I have not really used Canons what lens would be recommended? Thanks.

 7.
There are a number of good models in that list and outside of it but the most important consideration is CONDITION. Secondly, many older models need battery upgrades so you will need to look into that. Also, shades are enormously difficult to find.

 8.
Happy Birthday. Maybe, you have it all? How about some lenses?

 9.
Ergo finding a working Contax with a clean working lens is very difficult and costly. As I understand it most Contax lenses are Sonnar designed. There are two ways to go, as far as I know. One, is to buy a modern Zeiss 50mm f1.5 Sonnar lens which will fit you M3. The second is to purchase a Nikon S2 and a 50mm f1.4 lens. Probably, the easiest way to go is the modern Zeiss Sonnar in used condition. If you don't like it you could always sell it for about what it cost. Either will run about $800.

 10.
Nikkormat with a 50mm f2.0 as it is indestructible and extremely easy to use. Check with criscam.com on site as many of the older cameras took mercury batteries and need adapters. If you want rangefinder let me recommend the Yashica GSN but it too will need an adapter.

 11.
Some time ago Irwin Puts posted detailed reviews of many of the lenses designed for Leica cameras. You might want to read his reviews. Also, there are probably a number of reviews on this site if you do a search. I, unfortunately, have not used either lens.

 12.
Thanks for posting. I liked the images. (Better than a flock of bird photos.) They remind me of Julia Margaret Cameron and the Pictorialist Movement, probably one and the same. Great photo of the guy's head in the bucket right out of a William Mortensen portfolio.

 13.
Two items you might want to investigate for your LTM: 1. OKARO which is a orange colored mask that fits over one of the viewfinders to make focusing easier; and 2. SBOOI, a 50mm viewfinder that fits on top of the camera. Just suggestions for research and consideration.

 14.
If you contact labs around the country most will accommodate your requests. I use Dominion Camera (maybe now Ace) in Northern Virginia. They are on the net. Maybe they can accommodate you.

 15.
What part of the world are you located in? FYI: The lab I use discouraged me from making 3.5x5 prints. I am much happier with the 4x6 for a number of reasons.

 16.
M6ttl 0.85 with 50mm Summicron

 17.
If you really need a light meter then get the M6. There are discussions on the relative merits and build quality of each camera. For a hand held light meter I use an app on my cell phone. I have found it as accurate as meters in my cameras and easier to use than a hand held. Besides since I always carry my cell phone I always have a meter.

 18.
www.collectiblend.com for pricing of cameras & lenses

 19.
Why is it hanging around your neck? It should only be hanging around your neck when changing film. Try wrapping the strap around your hand.

 20.
I had my m6ttl 0.85 viewfinder upgraded to an MP viewfinder. It greatly reduced the flare. As compared (brightness) to my M6 0.72 there is no difference...IMHO.

 21.
Yes, what would be the point of adapting OM lenses to a Leica Screwmount when: 1. an OM-2 is reasonably priced and easier to handle than a Leica screwmount, and 2. Leica lenses are better than OM lenses?

 22.
The early M6's had a problem with the light meter circuit. Most went back to Leica for repair. They can be identified by the word "Wetzlar" on top of the camera. (Not all "Wetzlars" had this problem.) As for the viewfinder the only one with that particular flare problem that is annoying is the M6ttl with the 0.85 viewfinder. It does flare quite a bit and at some point if upgraded to an MP viewfinder it will be corrected. If the M6 that you are looking at is engraved "Solms" then you should not have the problems that you are querying about.

 23.
Sorry, but who made the determination that your camera is "mint"? If you want to sell it on ebay then start the bidding at $0.99. If, indeed, that camera is mint then your photos will reflect the outside of the camera but not it's working condition, which is extremely important. If you are selling a camera to a dealer he will pay wholesale price. If you want retail then you need a track record and more than just it looks mint...it needs to be working properly...that is part of the mint condition. Not long ago I paid $20 for a Nikon S2 with a 50mm f2.0 in "mint' condition but it was not working! Getting a high price on ebay means that the camera has been in use for a period of time with not malfunction and you are a respected camera seller on ebay. (I am not trying to denigrate you personally but advising about selling.) If you sell on ebay many types of items and can not guarantee the item expect a lower price.
