1.
Nikon F, F2 ,F5, F6 ,F100, FM2, FM3a would be my choices just pick the one you like best. Are you really going to a war zone?

 2.
I'm glad some found this post useful, I don't much about the scanner myself but the reported 4100dpi looks pretty good to me.

 3.
I know many here often looking for a 35mm film scanner.
This one seems to be quite good for a new cheepish 35mm film scanner.
Sorry the review is in german but I thought others here could be interested.
I just stumbled on the review myself so I thought I would share what I found here.

Reflecta Filmscanner ProScan 10T

http://www.filmscanner.info/ReflectaProScan10T.html

Maybe they will soon post the review in English too.
Hope this is some use foe someone. Looks to be a good alternative to a flatbed.

 4.
My old canon ixus 75 will show the time by pressing the function set button and power button at the same time, as it happens I just tried the same on my wife's ixus 130 and it does too.

 5.
I miss the dog picture on photo nets front page and also the little spider trap.

 6.
I thought they were quite nice to be honest. I can't see how making use of saturated color is any worse than shooting B&W.

 7.
It's still rather disappointing though. Hopefully the 7DII will give Nikon the push to produce the true D300 successor. If they ever do produce one it might not be the best seller but does it need to be, they did make the DF after all. I often wonder if they actually couldn't produce one with the older expeed 3 processor. I don't know if Expeed 4 could be the answer now maybe we will see a D400 or D9000 after all.

 8.
Very disappointed, not so much for myself but for all the D300/D300s owners waiting for the D400 that never came.
They bought into a system and have been let down. A key area where DSLRs are still king is action photography yet Nikon seems unable to supply a modern DX action camera. Why Nikon Why?
The compact market is lost to cell phones, the budget DSLRs market could be lost to mirror less cameras. One would think that Nikon would want to keep the customers they have but no for some reason Nikon just won't make the elusive D400. Why Nikon Why?

 14.
Personally I believe Nikon will release something fast in DX format for wildlife and sports photographers. They also sold a large number of D300 and D300s bodies. It's one area of photography that can't be easily covered by a cell phone. A cell phone makes a pretty crappy sports and wildlife camera so I don't believe cell phones will kill that market anytime soon.

Now whether Nikons answer will be a true DSLR who knows, however the enthusiast and pro market could be the only market left as far as selling cameras goes.

 15.
Personally I don't think it is very ethical to sell a broken D700 with 171K clicks for anymore than a couple of hundred dollars, certainly the buyer also needs to be informed that it is worn out and needs repair. I don't believe anyone here would ever advise someone to buy such a worn out D700.

 16.
Are you viewing the images at 100% in photoshop and judging the noise that way or are you making prints at your normal sizes and finding the camera too noisy. In prints you shouldn't find noise from the D600 any problem at all unless you are making huge prints. Viewing 100% crops on a typical 100ppi monitor is rather like looking a 60 inch wide 100ppi print. You will see noise viewing hi ISO shots at 100% from every DSLR.

 17.
Click the button twice quickly like double clicking a mouse. Kind of click click.

 18.
I also used a 35-135 on a Canon EOS 100 film body. I chose that lens rather than the 28-70 and 70-210 combo I had before. I really liked that lens and rarely ever used my 24mm prime. When I did use the 24 mm I knew I needed it. Half the time I never had the 24mm with me. Eventualy I bought a 28-70 80-200 f2.8 combo but I rarely used them unless I had two bodies with me.
If Nikon ever release a decent 35-105 f2.8 it will be on my D800 like a shot. I have been tempted by the 24-105 f4 sigma and the 24-120 f4 Nikkor, I would just rather have the option to shoot at 2.8 when need. I also wonder how good the f4 lenses are wide open as this is where I would likely use them.

 19.
Having a 24-85 on a DX body could be a bit limiting for some people. However I personally used a 28-75 f2.8 Tamron as my general purpose lens on DX bodies from 2006-2013, a 24-70 f2.8 would have been a bit more useful for me but generally I was very happy. When I finally got a full frame body I found the Tamron too short on the long end.
