Oh, and from what I can read ... trying to cash in makes you a suspect and you can get in trouble with the justice department.

Yes, and still ... people fall for it and ask questions ... reading the page might make them a little more alert when they get e-mails and request for refunds on a money order ...

I found this web page about the 'Nigerian' scams, recently many of you have
been approached and know already, but still take the time to read it ...

You better watch out what you photograph in Taiwan ... I was prohibited by a women at a public nightmarket on the street, of taking pictures of raw dead meat on scewer ... :)

If they send you the goods first ... otherwise it's not that safe. Try getting your money back ...

Really funny e-mails ... family in Brazil and Germany ... shopping in Nigeria ... and all the spelling and grammar errors ... and I really didn't know that Ireland was in Europe, go and figure ...

That's why, when I upload pics to any site ... I use 900x*** for horizontal (landscape), and 800x*** (portait) for vertical ... never have a problem.

Don't some of them have an accomplice in the US where you should mail or send the money to?
I guess that the justice system would be very interested in having a talk with them ... they are probably illegal.

Nikon is not an electronics manufacturer ... Pentax is not an electronics manufacturer ... both companies use sensors made by Sony I heared ... the difference is made by the software, lenses and the person behind the tool

Looking at the picture only ... this is a no brainer ... and he probably used 1600 ISO to get the background illuminated well ...

If the competition is there you should be there ...

Photo processors have a special hook to retrieve the film form the cannister ... it's almost impossible to open the it without damaging the ring that keeps the cannister closed ...

I had problems with two SD Twinmos 2 Gb (x133, x150) cards - used a SD->CF adaptor, one I had for six months the other for 4 months, both gave me errors and almost always the same errors, sometimes when full I got garbled named folders and a mess of files, nothing could read it or copy, but photorec got all pics off except the few times that it had to drop a couple of faulty RAW images, but the jpegs came always off. I shoot RAW+JPEG ... makes me feel safer.
BTW, I'll never buy 4GB or higher capacity cards, 2 GB is enough to lose in one go. Unless they aren't made anymnore in the future, than I have to go with more than 2 GB. Only when you shoot sports or something at multi pic shots, than it's probably better to get 4 GB or higher.

I got 150% back with photorec and (testdisk), if the card is not broken I guess you have a good chance of recovering everything ... it recovers RAW and Jpeg ... and more ...
Really, it recovered far more pics than I made that day, even pics I deleted several months ago and had not yet overwritten ...

Minolta (Konica) too was a camera manufacturer and sold out to Sony, Pentax now is bought by Hoya, who says they are going to stay ... Sony is for a big part a digital camera manufacturer and could gain from the dslr market ... I guess Sony will go for it long term ...
I bought the Sony because I owned Minolta lenses and it's an excellent dslr for what I use it for ... I would buy the next Sony brings on the market if it's an upgrade to the Alpha ...

I couldn't try it out yet as I can't get it downloaded, tried 3 times and download failed 3 times thanks to my incompetent provider ...
I hope to get it later on ..

Asahi is a glass manufacturer ... is this why Pentax was associated with Asahi, making the glass fro their lenses?

Tungsten is used indoors at yellow redish light so it's supposed to be blue outside because color temp is higher ... I don't know the exact filter to use but it should be yellow/orange ... I forgot the number ... just google for it ...

Well, good luck to you ... but I don't think there is a big enough market for advertising and contributors with quality pictures/articles out there to succeed ... but hey, who am I ... I could be wrong.
Been a long, long time

Next time you go out and try to buy a Minolta ... remember it's Sony now ... :)
Photography is the same as riding a bike ... you never unlearn it ... I know, I've been away from it for several years and just returned in May 2006, I'm doing great ... just needed to switch from film to digital and all it's hocus-pocus but I'm back, stronger than before ... with the Sony Alpha 100 and 15 year old Minolta AF lenses.
