1.
As Phil posted, you will need to install the CODEC for the raw files on your computer, my guess is that it had been installed somehow on your previous PC, maybe unwittingly by the software that came with your camera.
If the link that Phil posted above doesn't cover your camera, I know that Pentax has the codec for their raw files on their website as download, search the support website of your camera brand for this. Adobe has a codec to download for DNG files.

 2.
I do live in London too and shoot a lot of Acros 100. To keep a bit of structure in the clouds I tend to use a yellow filter K2 (see here and here for examples). Like Craig, I like to keep a yellow filter on my camera instead of the typical UV filter. Alternatively, I have used a polarizer filter with great effect to bring clouds out in the sky for B&W film. I think the polarizer is actually quite overlooked as a B&W filter and chances are that you already have one. But I wouldn't use it to remove glare and reflections as sparkly do tend to bring a B&W photo to life. :-)

During my recent trip to Japan I shot almost exclusively Across 100 without a filter at all and was really satisfied with the results (see here).

 3.
Hi John,
I'm no SEO expert but have been trying playing around with my blog to get a better ranking.
I think you can use both the individual words and the full phrases, but like I said, I don't think any of the search engines are using them anymore, instead they try to figure out keywords from the text of the page, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_element
According to the Bing Webmaster Centre's SEO Analyser (under Diagnostics & Tools), the Title, H1 and H2 are used to pick the most significant words on a page, I guess it will spot if the text is too long which might result in a lower ranking. Another thing it recommends is to use ALT text on images and make sure the page titles all differ.
This is what I learned:

Make sure you have an XML sitemap (several WordPress plugins can do this for you)

Make sure that other sites link to your site (this explains the constant comment spams in blogs that have been going around, people are not really hoping you click through on them, they just want to improve their SEO by having tons of links to their page)

Use a

Use a

Use a robots.txt file (google for it)

Use a free service like Attracta.com for sitemap submissions

I use google analytics as well and keep an eye on the keywords that bring people to my site and learned from that. For me those keywords were quite surprising and it became clear that pages with text I wrote myself were favoured by the search engines; the more text the better.

 4.
If you want people to find your site via your name, you will need to use your name on your pages inside h1 or h2 tags, for instance and preferably refer to your name several times. It looks like adding it to the meta keywords tag is not enough to get any SEO rating with modern engines like Google or Bing. Add an About page and write about yourself in the 3rd person and make sure people can easily navigate your site from there if the search engine brings visitors to the About page.
Join the free Bing and Google webmaster sites, the Bing one does give suggestions about SEO. This is what I did for my blog: http://monochrome.me.uk/blog/about

 5.
Just curious, I have developed lots of ADOX CHS 25 ART film in both 135 and 120 format and never had any problems with damaged or scratched negatives and I do stand develop the ADOX films which would leave the emulsion very soft. I do not use a squeegee or my fingers to wipe the water of, instead I use Kodak Photo-flo but I do that for all film I develop.
Do these films really have so many problems? I know by experience that the ADOX CHS 25 ART film doesn't work well with a red filter as it is almost colour blind for red, but that was my mistake for not reading the PDF :-)

 6.
I have used two ND filters and a polarizer on my Pentax medium format camera without experiencing any vignetting, and these weren't the extra slim filters. I've no experience with Cokin filters.
Basically, I think you need to experiment with your camera and lenses. Are you using a DSLR? Just put the filters in front of the lens, play with the aperture and inspect the results and draw your conclusions from there.

 7.
I have had this situation when I tried to display a larger photo, for example a 1024 pixels wide image, onto a webpage that would display the image at an 800 pixel wide format. A browser doesn't scale images very well and my solution was to resize my photos in Lightroom and upload only 800 pixels wide photos to this webpage. Could something similar be going on when you upload to the No words forum?
