The light and shadows are good. I would've liked to see some people walking towards the camera and cropping on the top is too tight, you have cut the head of the nearest walker.

Going through critique forum, this was one of the few pictures that made me stop. I went through your portfolio and I'd suggest to try some really basic "by the book" portraits. Pay attention to the light, composition, background and depth of field, make the person you photograph feel comfortable and that's it. After seeing this portrait of yours I'm looking forward to see more. All the best.

Americans seem to be very enthusiastic photographing their flag. Every week there's at least one of these. But I have to admit, this is one of the best ones.

Good work! Compliments. One of the few photographs in which I see understanding of light. Reminds me somehow the work of Trent Parke. Keep on going.

Buy a good lens, f:2,8 or even better, maybe f:1,4. Never use direct flash. Pay attention at the available light. Have a look at the work of the old masters of portrait photography. A glance for the best photographers of our days might be useful too. I hope this helps a step further.

This would be a great peace of work without the paint all over and I would take care also of the skin tones; in some spots its slightly overexposed. The only thing that really disturbs me, is that her nose is a bit too much out of focus, the rest out of focus is really good. altough in some parts it looks, not so well Photoshopped.

You Like Ralph Gipson too?! You're not alone. A good picture. Just that I'd like to see some details on the paper.

What is this? What do you want to say with it? sorry, I don't get the point.

Salve Gino. Hai chiesto perch頮on ho dato dei voti cos젡lti come tutti gli altri. In generale queste foto mi annoiano.
Good luck and enjoy photography!

I think the picture is a bit out of balance. I think the singer should be more on the right side, she is in focus anyway, so there is no need her being in the middle. It would also be better to leave more "air" on the left side, the bass player seems almost to fall out of the picture. As the last point: it would be nice to see the both hands of the bass player.

I'd pay attention to the composition. General rule is Not to cut body parts, in this case the hand.

Wouldn't call this a portrait, but it is a great picture. I have also sometimes problems to choose a category. Good Luck.
